denis4x4 I had the stock aluminum wheels on my Navigator powder painted to match the two-tone paint job. They've held up very well.

thanks chuck

here's the wuote from that post if anyone's interested in the future
Quote:
First: Removed the wheels and cleaned them thoroughly w/brake cleaner and soap/water

2nd: Lightly brush them with a scotch brite pad to rough them up just a little bit (mostly to remove some clearcoat)

3rd: Clean again thoroughly & tape off what you dont want to paint (tire etc)

4th: Sprayed several very light coats from 12 - 16" away of Rustoleum Hi-heat BBQ semi-gloss spray paint (available at walmart

5th: AFter the paint has dried I sprayed about 2 - 3 light coats of Rustoleum gloss clearocoat

Then let them dry for a few hours and you can remount them (but be careful I only grabbed the tire to mount them and was real careful when tightening lugs)

I drove on them after only about 12 hours of drying (at night) and the paint has held up perfectly (some recommend to wait a full day)

Painted stock wheels?

Has anyone painted their stock Aluminum wheels? If so, was there any special prep or spray paint that works best on aluminum? I'd like to paint mine black.

Anyone got pics of theirs done?

Thanks
