Trailblazer All answers are helpful InfernoGirl, but yeah i'm gonna go with a wider wheel to move the tires slightly out farther than where their at now. Of course if they don't stick out that's o.k too. TJNewbie i noticed that you have grill inserts on your jeep,do they protect the radiator? Thank you folks for the help. O'h yeah by the way TJNewbie, nice jeep.

MCDavis My LJ came stock with 15x8 Ravines, 5.5" backspacing, 30 x 9.5 x 15 tires. You'll be fine.

TJNewbie At 27psi the tire side walls sit even with the edge of the fenders, the tread is just barely under the fenders.

TJNewbie I have a 2000 tj with 15x8 gambler rims 5.5" BS, 30x9.5x15 BFG A/T, no lift, nice ride, no rub. but asap I'm getting 31x10.5x15s probably dura tracs. here's a pic, it's got some HDR effects in it but it's ok.

I had 31x10.50s on my stock 15x7 wheels with no lift on my 06 TJ X and did not have any rubbing issues.

InfernoGirl Spacers or new wheels. And I over looked that your stockers are 7" wide. You may have more rubbing issues than I did with my 8" Canyons. Sorry for the not so great answer before. It may not be a problem, depending on how wide your tires actually are. They rarely measure what they are advertised. If your 8" wheels are 5.5" bs, then my first answer should still be good. I have got to start reading more closely. Keep in mind the tires you have now are roughly 29x9.5" so a 10.5" tire will give you another half inch out, and a 31 will gain you something close to 1" in height. Backspacing isn't hard once you understand how it is measured. Finding wheels you like with the backspacing you need is the challenge, as you are learning. I have 12.5's on 4" bs and they stick out a good 2" from my flares, sling mud and water everywhere, but I love the way they look...
On my stock Canyons with 5.5" bs my 31x10.5's were just even with the flares. I hope this helps.

Trailblazer Infernogirl what's your opinion say if i wanted to get the tires out just a tad farther?

Trailblazer Thanks for the help InfernoGirl

InfernoGirl You can run 31x10.5's on 5.5" bs with no lifting or rubbing. Some jeeps rub slightly on the steering stops with that set up, but a washer or two will fix it. Mine never rubbed when I ran that size. No need for new wheels or spacers, if you want to keep them tucked.

Could use some advice

My wrangler still has the stock wheels which are 15x7" with a 5.5 backspace and p235/7515's at first i thought about going with 31x10.50 tires and 15x8" wheels on my '06 jeep, but the more i thought about it i decided to go with 30x9.50's and 15x8" wheels because i'm on a budget and i want just a little wider and taller tire.So i'm still a little confused on what backspacing i need to keep the wheels and tires from sticking way out from under the fenders.I'm sure i need a little less backspacing so that the tires don't rub at full lock and all i can find is wheels with a 4" inch backspace.Any suggestions?
