AFGUY1980 To be honest you can lift it yourself. If you know how to use a jack and a ratchet set you will be fine. I have a 2inch rusty's lift on mine with a 3/4 inch spacer in the front to level it out. had to add the spacer after the winch and winch plate. It took me about 3 hours to do it all and it drives great for a lifted truck. Not the same as stock but not bad either. I'm also running 31 inch mickey mtz's. Alot of guys on this site will say to do 10 inches of lift with 44 inch tires. thats laughable! of course i'm being facetious, but you get my drift. You dont need big tires and a big lift to go wheelin... my jeep can go just about anywhere the next guys rig with 33's on it can go. Just some food for thought. i will have to post a pic of my jeep so you can see it. i see if i can get one up soon.

dasaffen Since you're new to Jeeps just go with a nice managable lift like a 2.5 inch suspension lift and do it yourself. They aren't really hard to figure out yourself, even if you're not mechanically inclined. With small lifts, everything is pretty basic.

InfernoGirl I can't imagine that there are that many places you couldn't offroad with it stock or near stock in the DC area. A stock Wrangler will go more places than I am brave enough to take it.........

schnutzy i see your locations says you are in DC. if that is the case, then you are out of luck. DC wont let ya do it and still have it pass inspection.

Where/How to lift my jeep

I have an 04 Jeep Wrangler Sport and I have been wanting to get it lifted and throw some tires on it since I got it. But I am no mechanic and I don't think me tinkering around with it's suspension is such a hot idea. Does anybody know where I can get some one to put the kit in for me?

Also, I want to know what a good height to lift it is and what kind of tires would be best for me. I don't go off road too much but that is only because of the limitations of stock supplies. I want to be able to take it to some pretty intense trails and basically anywhere it will fit.

If anyone can help me I'd really appreciate it!!
Thanks!
