I actually drilled one thru the bottom plate on the passenger side. Hindsight-If I had to do it over, I would have went thru the driver's side since the spod is on the driver's side..

I shoved a coat hanger into it and it went all the way up into the pipe. I didn't notice it at first because the bumper is double plated in that area. The hole is between the front plates and rear plates and there is only one on the drivers side. You will need a flashlight to see the opening I'm refering to due to its location.

If you search the jk forum with "Barricade front bumper and winch on 2014 jku", you will see it's a pretty easy task to run the wires inside the bullbar. I didn't want to cut the plugs of the kc lites since they have a 23 yr warranty so I was stuck with my options.

It looks like you have about 7" from the bottom of the bar to the top of the fairlead. The depth of the lights may come into play with mounting them there though. The winch will limit you a bit there.

The red circle is where you have a rubber gasket already. If you add some padding to the back side of that latch you'll eliminate the only other metal on metal that could cause rattling on the carrier. Give that a try and let me know how it works out!

I'm glad you got the bumper fast and got it mounted up. There are still a few kinks to work out with the shipping but most are getting to their destination scratch free. I'm sorry yours was a little banged up! Let me know if you'd like a touch up kit for any future trail damage, or if you need anything else from me.

I haven't seen anyone do this yet but I'd be interested to! I'm sure you could drill the holes out and mount just about any light in there that you like. Let us know how it works out or if you have any other questions!

I'm planning to install some KC Slimlite halogens and I would like to know how to run the wires cleanly like in the user pics on the web site. Did they drill a hole into the back of the bar and run wires through it?

Thanks!

I've seen a customer who drilled a few small holes and touched up the metal/sealed the wiring with RTV. That way you can hide it in the bumper bar and even get it into the bumper so everything is hidden. I'll see if I can find the post about it. Good Luck!

If you want to run super clean, you can internally wire the bull bar. Just drill a hole under the light tabs, wrap the wire in your preferred weather deflector, then attach it to a long strand of safety wire to fish it down the tube to a hole drilled coming out of the base area, run wires up from there (use a rubber grommet or RTV to seal all holes drilled)...That's what I did when I put a bull bar and KCs on my Z71 about 8 years ago. Looked great and never had to worry about road or weather damage! Good luck with whatever you choose to do. Oh, don't forget, if you do drill, make sure to touch up the paint to prevent rust damage.
I saw this after I typed that but we have similar ideas!

I haven't seen the bumper you're talking about, but if you're talking about the JK front bumper fog lights, I'm sure there's plenty of ways...

Hole saw, Eastwood/touch up kit, retaining ring, paint some screws black, mount, RTV for weather proofing, wire running should be common sense...for a first thought.

Mine were free spinning and it let the whole spare rattle. Was only noticeable when pushing on one area of the tire. So, anyone with a rattle may want to check these bolts. Also, it would suck for your spare to take out the cars behind you on the road. Hope this helps eliminate the prob for some of you.

Ryan do y'all cary Warn. Any deals for Black Friday?
Double check that it's not from the D-rings. If it turns out to be the latch you can pad the surface that the tire carrier rests against with some adhesive foam. I've hear that that will help with any noise. Let me know if you have other questions!

We don't currently carry Warn.

SonicBoom Just FYI, if you also have a front bumper there is a rattle from the D rings on bumps which is normal. Make sure it's the latch and not the D ring.

I have had mine on for a couple weeks. The roads here suck. It's like I'm constantly driving off road. Haven't heard a peep from the back yet. Carrying a 33" Mickey Thompson.
