|crtaylor||With the skin pulled off the linkage is not traveling inits stock location.,Also check you striker ,on the tub where the door latches,it also may have some ware issuses.you have been really yanking on that door to rip the skin off.take the panel off and take it to a local vocational school ,they can learn a fix and also save you some cash.dont worry the teachers there are well educated to fix this up for ya|

|enginenine||Thats normal for older full doors. Every set I have ever seen have that split @ the vent window. The top of the window frame is pushing out against the exterior door skin when you close the door.|

|sevenservices||I pulled the door skins off the other day to put my new handles in and my drivers door had the same vertical crack. I was able to wire weld it (super low heat to not blow a hole through) then grind the welds and prime it until I repaint the whole jeep. At least it won't spread anymore... normal stress cracks for that design.|

The outside skin is peeling off. Unless you are good with a mig welder, take it to a local body shop, they should be able to fix it. You can finish up yourself with some body filler etc.
Take the inside panel off to get to the mechanics of the door, most of the time its usually a bent or loose rod or just needs cleaning..

Full Steel Door Issue (Structural)
So I have an issue with my driver's side door (well, along with the inability to lock, or open from the inside) that keeps getting worse. I can't tell what the root cause of the issue is, or how to fix it. The door seems to be literally splitting into two pieces (see attached images).
Has anyone run into this issue? If so, how could I fix it without replacing. I can't afford a new door, so I was thinking some kind of brace scenerio. Any help would be appreciated!
