scrambler1 The marine clean is a degreaser.
Really for best result's with the POR paint is to use the 3 recomended product's togethor. 1- marine clean HOT,HOT water 2- metal ready 3- POR 15.
And the paint needs to be topcoated to last. Even if it is NOT in direct UV.
They also have a top coat.
I use Enamel paint over it never had a problem.

I am getting closer to painting a frame and part's right now on my current project. I am thinking about trying Eastwood's Chassis paint.

Good luck.

POR-15 question for the good CJ folk

I just bought some POR-15 and I neglected to purchase the marine cleaner they recommend. Is there an alternative I can use? Do I even need it for mild surface rust? Can I just wire brush, wipe and be done with it?

I am too cheap to order that marine clean stuff.
