|bck4more||Heres what i have done in the past i would take a nut and sit it on top of the bolt you broke off and weld the nut (on the inside) to the bolt and then just unscrew.|

|1991 Wrangler YJ Renegade||well, after snapping 3 cobalt drill bits in HALF! we decided to go the easier route and just drill new holes 1.5 inches forward and use new bolts and nuts... and we had to move the back seat brackets up as well... but i found that it really doesnt make a much of a difference when you are sitting in the back seat, and gives me more room in the back! so it's a win-win situation for me! thanks to everything guys!|

|adawg38||I 3rd that! Get better bits and keep drilling uping the bit size until the bolt comes out. That's what I had to do.|

|sevenservices||yeah, I think you'll need to drill and tap as well. Something in there that good may not come out with an easy-out.|

|Six Gun Matt||We did the same thing and just used a good set of pneumatic drill bits to drill it out. Start small, work your way up. That should do it, I hope.|

Broken Bolts in the back of my Jeep! How do I get them out?
I was taking out the rear bench seat on my YJ a couple weeks ago to prepare to bed line the inside of the tub. Well, one bolt came out cleanly, but the other three.... well, the bolt heads broke right off!
I have no idea how, because I wasn't applying a whole lot of pressure, and the bolts don't seem to rusted out through the core at all.
I have already tried drilling out the center with regular drill bits (i am thinking of drilling those out and re-tapping the hole) but these bits aren't making any progress at all (in fact we broke four of them), which makes me think that they may be grade 5 hardened steel bolts.
I read that diamond tipped grinding bits (made for a dremel) will turn them to dust in 5 minutes...
what do you think I should do?
