you could always just throw some 31s on there and run those till you have enough saved up to get a nice set of 33s and new wheels. but like inferno said, you can get some good wheels for bout $200. cragar soft 8s are a pretty popular wheel and are bout $50 a rim at most places
although if it were me, id run 33x10.5 cause i really like the gambler(i think they are gambers?) wheels on your jeep

Well, I'm gonna defer that to the YJ guys, I don't know for sure if they'll fit or not. On a TJ they will get eaten up in the rear... We'll see what the YJ's say for sure. I'd just hate for you to get new tires and have them destroyed before you got home....
Search this section and tires and wheels and see if you can find the answer to your question. I hate to send you to search, but I'm sure it's been asked and answered before... If you don't find anything (unlikely) post up a new thread asking specifically if you can fit 12.5's on Gamblers on a YJ without spacers....

so, it really isn't possible to put 33x12.50 on my stock wheels??
because my mom's condition to getting 33's and a 4" lift on her, is that the tires have to be 12.50" wide...
i was looking around and found this page that said I could fit them in...

But if it's wrong, then I have to suck it up and spend the extra cash on new wheels : (
sorry to be a pest, but I am new to the whole driving thing, let alone the whole Jeep thing...
Thanks for all the help though : )

|InfernoGirl||Yes, 5.5" bs sounds right. Now, if you stick with a 10.5" wide tire you will be fine, if you want to go wider you will need new wheels (which you can get 5 for about $200) or spacers (will cost nearly as much). You need 4" or less bs for 12.5's.|

|1991 Wrangler YJ Renegade||backspacing is 5.5" i believe... does that sound right??|

|1991 Wrangler YJ Renegade||well, they are 8" wheels... My mistake... so with those, can I fit 12.5" wide tires?? i understand you have to take the backspacing into consideration... but it could be possible?? cause I dont wanna spend another $1000 on new wheels if i dont have to.|

|InfernoGirl||Good catch 4Jeepn.. I didn't look at the wheels in the pic, but I did kind of wonder about the 9.5" width....|

|4Jeepn||28"s on 9.5" rims seems a bit off.. If they are the rim in the pictures I would say they are 15x8"'s. In which case you could fit a 12.50" wide tire on ,but the back spacing on the stock rims as stated above will cause some rubbing at that width.|

|InfernoGirl||What's the backspacing on the wheels? You can fit a 12.5 or 13" wide tire on a 9.5" wheel without any problems. But if the backspacing on the wheel is too large then you will rub.|

How wide of tires can I go with 9.5" wide wheels?
ok, so i'm getting a new lift put on... going 4 inches. so, i am also getting new tires! i have 9.5 inch wide wheels. I have 28" tires on there now, and I want to go to 33" after the lift, which also means that the 33" are obviously going to be wider, so I was wondering how wide I can go without changing the 9.5" wheels? thanks!
