Tjeepfreak Well I'm going to go with your best bet would be a bridge or car wash lol
... Maybe you could find a cheap carport someone selling then that'd solve the issue...

Then again all the other ideas I'm sure would work, We have many times in the stupid Kansas crazy weather ran out in the middle of a hail storm with a comforter and tossed it on top of whatever vehicle it was that we were worried about and for the most part I don't really recall much if any damage.

Seems like just about anything that you could get on there over the panels to soften the blow ought to help out at a minimum.

Just about everything we have sits outside now though, usually it's just whatever the project at the time is that gets lucky enuff to be in the shop lol...

lateralus3 Panther Creek Brand Carports 10 Ft. W x 18 Ft. 6 In. L x 5 Ft. 2 In. Sidewall (Roof "NOT" included - Frame Only) Sportsport Carport - 118670 at The Home Depot

you mean one of these? if you get one you need to anchor the crap out of it, my work uses one for an outside break area and that thing would take off if it wasn't anchored into the concrete

sevenservices I was thinking maybe cardboard between the body panels and the cover. Maybe even just one piece over the hood. It has that perferated layer between two sheets that would help absorb the impact.

It worked when we were kids as paintball armor panels for inside our pant legs on the fronts of our thighs. Once we got a bit older, we would'nt use it anymore but at 13, it was a fun project to make an armor suit

cavediverjc I'm in a completely opposite boat than you. I WANT my Jeep to get the crap hailed out of it so I can get an AEV HiLine Heat Reduction hood, some GenRight HiLine fenders, and a Corvette Z06 Atomic Orange paintjob!! Let's DO THIS Mother Nature!!!

I've got USAA as an insurance company. I've been a loyal customer since 2005 with NO claims. It's time they pay up.......

MR.CLIFFORD I'd move my wife's speed6 out in the cold before I let the jeep get pummeled.

UpChuck I was sort of thinking the same thing. Maybe I could get a cheap-o tarp and rig it up with some blankets or something on the inside.
I added a nice Mazda 6 to the inventory last year as my daily driver, and almost as soon as I had moved it into the garage and the Jeep out into the driveway, it got hailed on. No damage, but it sure did suck to stand there and watch it get pummeled, with nothing to do about it.
I want to avoid this in the future.

muddigger94 we had that problem once with my parents camaro the best we could do is put a couple moving plankets under the cover and its saved the body from the hail

InfernoGirl Maybe a portable garage thing... crap I know what I mean but I can't think what they are called right now. Poles and a tarp, peaked at the top to cover autos/rv's etc. Sam's, Lowes, etc has them. Sorry I can't find the word for them at the moment.

Stupid Spring weather...

Okay Kansas guys, does anyone have any suggestions for a heavy-duty cover of any sort that will offer some protection against hail?
I have that classic problem of having more vehicles than garage space. So somebody gets to ride out the storms in the driveway.
