RatherBNarizona I am interested in joining the USSS and DEA, and they both told me to get something unique, and to not get a CJ degree, because you cannot use that everywhere. They suggested I focus on something like finance or accounting, which could be useful for many career fields. Not sure about your situation, have you thought about a Geography degree or something along those lines?

x2 . . . exactly what I was thinking. Usually when work gets bad or unstable, I start thinking about my options and working with the forest service is always one of the things at the top of my list of possiblities. Good luck . . . would be cool for you to keep us posted.

CMEvans79 I'm currently (Almost finished) in the AOJ/CJ program in my area and I'm 30 ... I have 5 years before Police Departments wont take me anymore... I love the AOJ Program, its interesting and can open other backgrounds if I cant get onto a Police Department. Good Luck!

I think I've nailed down my major/minor

So, being that I'm almost 30 and 5 years ago I decided to make a career change from a mechanic to something else not so brutal on the body. I decided to become a historian quite some time ago, then I decided the coolest thing to do with that would be a park ranger. I was a junior ranger when I was a little kid, and I'll admit it I think that hat is cool. So I've been kicking around my mandatory minor, I think Ive decided to do criminal justice. The others that I was kicking around besides CJ is home land security and human resource management.

What do you guys think, any input?
