Bsc I'm close to the area and visit Borrego Springs a lot once it cools down out there. Would be happy to do some wheeling with you.

YES I live pretty close to that area so when ever you plan on coming down to do some wheelin in the area look me up I'm in.

I haven't had a chance to go there just yet but this winter I plan on seeing all the trails around there.

Jeeper9D9 I'm in San Diego and I'd love to wheel with you all sometime!

I've only done a few of the easier trails around, I'd like to do some more challenging stuff

Cascade Wanderer Anyone using Chesty Puller for their avatar is more than welcome in the Jeep community!

I used to hit Borrego Springs often when I was stationed at Camp Pendleton. Great chunk of desert to explore!

holtzes Hi all - I'm new the forum, and looking to head out on some runs in SoCal - I am a novice, but looks like you are hitting some fun trails. Message me or add me to the posts (not sure how this forum works yet..) if you are looking to add to your group.

jjseel I got the hula girl's sister on my dash, her name is kiki the island girl (sister in law from LA gave it to us) She LOVES the top down!

bluvikng Thank goodness for the more experienced, and their willingness, to share their passion with the rest of us. I can still remember how green I was, just a couple of years ago, and how intimidating those rocks looked. It is better than any ride at Disney, or Six Flags, for sure. The best part, is being able to control the ride............ Some even like to try the 360 loops, but I must admit, I like to keep the rubber, on the ground.

tiny terror Don't forget Spaz and Lilred, though I think I was the least experienced, and our illustrious leader Unlimited. I'd have done a lot more than scrape a skid had he not been willing to baby me up those hills.

We all had a great time I think, and it was fun to have the boys in the jeep with me. We even had a great time driving down there.... blasting the stereo, watching Unlimited's dashboard hula girl and laughing about how lousy we sounded singing.

bluvikng WTG, Chris!!!!!!!!!!! You got in there, and had a great time. That is so kewl. Even got your son out there with you. What better way to spend the day together. I could not let the whole weekend pass, without doing the same. I actually let my son do all the driving, and I just spotted for him. That was more fun, for both of us. It was very neat to see him get the hang of it, and do so well. Glad you had such a beautiful day, for your first adventure.

RedRubiTJ Looks like Tiny has got the bug .

Tiny, you need a lift first. But a couple weeks ago I had 3 sets of tires and wheels (15) not including the ones on the Jeeps. After a while they kind of get in the way. I gave one set to a friend and the others I donated to our church since none had more than 10k miles on them. None were really worth much for off-road use, otherwise I would have asked if anyone here wanted them.

tiny terror I think I need bigger tires..... How many sets of tires can you have in your garage before it's some sort of hazard?

It was a great day. I'm still cleaning the dust out of my ears.

jeeperman Great pictures! Sounds like we have a few more wheelers, and a few less "mallcrawlers" in our midst!

Ha, sure if you want one then it's yours. However I think that huge smile on your face is evidence enough that you are now officially down with wheelin.

1BLKJP It doesn't matter if the trail is the easiest one you've ever been on or the gnarliest rocks that you've ever seen. It's all just about getting out and spinning a couple tires.

Hell I went out with a buddy today and he had his kids so we couldn't do anything crazy. I'll post a thread when he sends me the pics.

JeepGuyLJ Looks like you guys had way too much.

Unlimited I had an absolute blast on this trip. It was great to finally meet and get to know a few of the people from the forum. It was so much fun to see the looks on their faces when they saw the "trail". I think they all thought I was crazy. I have to say how impressed I was with everyone. They all picked pretty good lines and did the majority of the tough spots without any help.

An experienced Jeeper would think Cougar Canyon is an easy trail, but to a novice in an almost stock Jeep, it's pretty intimidating. I really enjoyed watching them learn what their Jeeps could do. Thanks Chris, Mike, and Larry for the great time. I look forward to doing it again soon.

AGAIN AGAIN!!!

Yeah, I had a blast. I'd go out again today if I could. And thing about this being the largest gathering, we had two or three more that just couldn't make it this time. But they will next time I think....

BIG BEAR!!!!
03-11-2007 09:26 AM
tiny terror Since Silent hasn't introduced himself, I'll do it ... ain't I pushy.

My son is on the left and Silent is on the right. I converted him slowly through brainwashing to the jeep thing while he was eyeing mustangs. I think I should get a star, or a point, or a hash mark on the jeep or something...

Silent WOOOOO That was the best fun i ever had and it will be even better when i have my jeep...! we gotta Go AGAIN!!!
