Kturner3010 Thanks guys I'm clearing my schedule for next week end and going to town on it. I'm replacing both heater core and water pump plus all hoses just good measures.

Allfouldup Double check your water pump, i had no flow through the heater core hoses, abd the jeep never ran hot!!

MosesTJ All I can say is take your time and label everything so you get it all connected back. It is easier to just remove the entire dash. Here's how to disconnect the condensation lines, I could find a vid so I made one.http://youtu.be/fFyhTG_5S_I

Kturner3010 Yes three times. Ran the water throw a few minutes at a time. The first time I got some gunk out and the other times it was clean. Before all that I ran a bottle of flush out throw the system. I'm stumped on this one.

That's the head scratcher man. I've done everything in the book to do. I'm just going to switch the core out nothing else is making any sense.

Kturner3010 It's a 2000 with the turn knob. Everything works like it should, good coolant flow, no leaks. I'd hate to go throw the trouble of the core change when I know there is no coolant flowing to it now.

Wattapunk Another thing to check is the blend door, which is controlled by the temp slider (or turn knob if newer TJ). Those are known to break and cause lack of temp control. If yours is a slide cable driven controls, follow the cable to the end connection to the blend door. Should see/feel it turn with the cable. Should also have some resistance vs. free play.

Kturner3010 With having limited down time the core change is on the bottom of my list along with the pump. I know the pump is only a year are two old so I'm hoping it's not that.

JimsJeep The hoses should get hot so either there is reduced flow thru the heater core or possibly the water pump is not keeping up. Just changed out my son's core as it finally started to leak and what a difference with the new core.

Trouble with my heater.

I've had my TJ for about 9 years now. The past few years I've had trouble with the heater. I flushed it and everything connected to it, I get good flow throw it. I've never had any leaking of the heater core so I'm sure it's still good. My main concerns are that the hoses into/out of the core do not get hot when my engine is up to temp. The system has been burped and when I pull the hoses that've is plenty of fluid in them. If anyone could help solve my problem I would be much obliged. Thanks for your time.
