Ya, my wife hates the thing and was pretty ticked when I bought it, but we do a lot of long distance traveling and have 3 kids. She is demanding that I trade it in for a Commander so that she can have her Jeep too.

|kattzoo||I took off on Spring Break and took my 2dr 2300 miles and 6 States. I loved every second of it. Just driving mine makes me happy. (I'm a middle aged teacher, not a young college kid)|

|clear lake jeepn||hey biffman..I you do drive the ...and I hate to even type it...much less say it...MINIVAN......I would at the VERY least get a sticker on the minivan that says MY OTHER VEHICLE IS A JEEP!!!|

|biffman||My wife and I are debating the same thing. We just went on a little road trip in our 2010 Unlimited and it rode great on the Interstate, but it was a little light on pick up and heavy on gas (no surprises) but it was very comfortable. In 2 weeks we are heading to a family reunion about 500 miles away. I want to take the Jeep, my wife wants to take the minivan. We have 3 young kids, minivan has the DVD player, better gas mileage....minivan may win on this one...BUT ONLY ON THIS ONE!!!|

|superdavis78||I just got back from a road trip on Saturday. I went from Corbin, KY to Hillsborough, NC. It's about a 6-7 hour drive. I took my 2dr Rubi, and the ride wasn't bad on the way there. However, on the way back, the wind was howling and blowing like crazy....the Rubi didn't like the wind that much, HAHAHA. I would take it again tomorrow, and the gas mileage was pretty good too. I only had to stop 4 times round trip, LOL!!!!|

I will be heading to Oregon in my Unlimited. It is a long, long 1500 miles. If you are not planning any wheeling, I would look at taking advantage of something other than the Wrangler. Probably have more comfort and better mileage.
Love my Wrangler and we will make the trip fine. But cruising at a maximum 70 mph (downhill) and stopping at every other station to fill up is not that much fun. If you can, save the Jeep, and yourself, for better things.
Have a safe trip!

|ThrashN||When I first got my jeep I drove it from PA to FL and back. 850 miles each way. It was fine to drive.|

Can't blame you, When I drove my Xyerra on the Hiway (17hrs), it was duck-soup--265 HP, fingertip control, 20 mpg-relaxation (Tahoe)

|Ozarkharleyguy||Now you guys have me thinking about switching for the trip. Its business so no time for off road or playing. I bought the 2 door because here in Arkansas there are some tight trails and I love how I can put the shorter 2-dr anywhere. If I was really cheap I'd take the Civic Hybrid but on the road that car is small and low to the ground and not a lot of power (which is good it keeps me from contributing to the Hwy Patrol or should I say Highwaymen).|

Mine is a four door--same advice !!
Don't get me wrong, I love driving it, but if I'm given a choice for long term HIWAY trips--Take the Tahoe
Have a safe trip !!

|Wally Meyers||We bought the 4 door. The salesman that we have known for a long time told me I wouldn't like the 2 door, because of the rough ride. He knows the history of the cars and trucks we have bought from him.|

If it's all hiway, take the Tahoe, it you're going to do any adventure off-road, take the jeep
I've done several 1000 mile+ trips, but I've got a trailer, so I have to use the jeep
No comparison to the hiway comfort in the Tahoe, or my old Xterra and yours is a 2dr

|Wally Meyers||Greetings. I'm 60, and my wife is 58. Beginning of last month we bought a new 2010 JK. The next day we left from Racine Wisconsin to go to Gatlinburg Tenn. Nice trip. About 1200 miles +/-. Comfort wasn't a problem. Granted it wasn't my wifes Chrysler Pacifica or my Dodge Magnum R/T, but we have no complains. Would do it again. Two weeks ago we went about 700 miles with it. We like it. What ever vehicle you take, have a great time.|

Jk road trip?
I've got a thosand mile round trip coming up and debating taking the Jeep. I had an '89 Wrangler and on the road it really beat me up. My 2010 is smoother but not sure I want to take the Jeep over my wife's Tahoe or Civic Hybrid; any advice for an old guy?
