|bluvikng||Thank goodness for the more experienced, and their willingness, to share their passion with the rest of us. I can still remember how green I was, just a couple of years ago, and how intimidating those rocks looked. It is better than any ride at Disney, or Six Flags, for sure. The best part, is being able to control the ride............ Some even like to try the 360 loops, but I must admit, I like to keep the rubber, on the ground.|

Don't forget Spaz and Lilred, though I think I was the least experienced, and our illustrious leader Unlimited. I'd have done a lot more than scrape a skid had he not been willing to baby me up those hills.
We all had a great time I think, and it was fun to have the boys in the jeep with me. We even had a great time driving down there.... blasting the stereo, watching Unlimited's dashboard hula girl and laughing about how lousy we sounded singing.

|bluvikng||WTG, Chris!!!!!!!!!!! You got in there, and had a great time. That is so kewl. Even got your son out there with you. What better way to spend the day together. I could not let the whole weekend pass, without doing the same. I actually let my son do all the driving, and I just spotted for him. That was more fun, for both of us. It was very neat to see him get the hang of it, and do so well. Glad you had such a beautiful day, for your first adventure.|

Looks like Tiny has got the bug .
Tiny, you need a lift first. But a couple weeks ago I had 3 sets of tires and wheels (15) not including the ones on the Jeeps. After a while they kind of get in the way. I gave one set to a friend and the others I donated to our church since none had more than 10k miles on them. None were really worth much for off-road use, otherwise I would have asked if anyone here wanted them.
|03-12-2007 10:06 AM|
I think I need bigger tires..... How many sets of tires can you have in your garage before it's some sort of hazard?
It was a great day. I'm still cleaning the dust out of my ears.

|jeeperman||Great pictures! Sounds like we have a few more wheelers, and a few less "mallcrawlers" in our midst!|

It doesn't matter if the trail is the easiest one you've ever been on or the gnarliest rocks that you've ever seen. It's all just about getting out and spinning a couple tires.
Hell I went out with a buddy today and he had his kids so we couldn't do anything crazy. I'll post a thread when he sends me the pics.
Oh, and Tiny. Yep you are official now. You've banged some metal on your rig.

|JeepGuyLJ||Looks like you guys had way too much.|

I had an absolute blast on this trip. It was great to finally meet and get to know a few of the people from the forum. It was so much fun to see the looks on their faces when they saw the "trail". I think they all thought I was crazy. I have to say how impressed I was with everyone. They all picked pretty good lines and did the majority of the tough spots without any help.
An experienced Jeeper would think Cougar Canyon is an easy trail, but to a novice in an almost stock Jeep, it's pretty intimidating. I really enjoyed watching them learn what their Jeeps could do. Thanks Chris, Mike, and Larry for the great time. I look forward to doing it again soon.

|tiny terror||Ooooo, I found a nice gash in my skidplate. I feel official now.|
|03-11-2007 10:29 AM|
Yeah, I had a blast. I'd go out again today if I could. And thing about this being the largest gathering, we had two or three more that just couldn't make it this time. But they will next time I think....
|03-11-2007 10:26 AM|
Since Silent hasn't introduced himself, I'll do it ... ain't I pushy.
My son is on the left and Silent is on the right. I converted him slowly through brainwashing to the jeep thing while he was eyeing mustangs. I think I should get a star, or a point, or a hash mark on the jeep or something...
|03-11-2007 03:20 AM|
|Silent||WOOOOO That was the best fun i ever had and it will be even better when i have my jeep...! we gotta Go AGAIN!!!|
|03-11-2007 03:03 AM|
Looks like you all had a great run. Glad you all got to meet up. I think just might be the largest actual WF gathering to date.
So Tiny, I take it you had a blast on your first trip out?
|03-11-2007 01:44 AM|
|jjseel||And you thought you had the Jeep thing BEFORE!|
|03-11-2007 01:26 AM|
Great pictures! I am so jealous.
Glad you all got together and had a fun day.
|03-11-2007 12:45 AM|
It was Cougar Canyon in Borrego Springs.
And I don't think the wrack looks like that much fun, plus, longer legs is fine, but I'd like my knuckles not to drag the ground.
|03-11-2007 12:40 AM|
I'm in there, Spaz, you can see my head just fine ....
could this picture be any better?
|03-11-2007 12:37 AM|
Is that Ocotillo Wells?
I've been there 1 time to go ride quads, it didn't turn out well...
Watch out for sink holes, seriously. sink holes can ruin your whole day.
Cool pics and glad you guys had fun.
