A lift isn't going to change "frame height". Larger tires will.

InfernoGirl Measure your springs if you still feel the need to determine if it's lifted. If there are no pucks and you know how long the springs are, you will know once and for all if it's lifted or not. I'd say no, from the pics....

distortedtj No problem bud, If you want cheap...2'' bb with Skyjacker Hydro shocks....NOT NITROS. they ride like crap. the hydros are decent and around $36 each from summitracing.com or jegs.com.

BB lifts recomended "kits"
Rubicon express with monotube shocks
Skyjacker with Hydro shocks.

If you buy the shocks and pucks seperate...any brand pucks. and a monotube or skyjacker hydro shock for the cheapest.

AsylumTJ I have looked at OME but the $$$ is a little up there and would cut into my budget for the RE LA next year, im just looking for a cheap but good 2-2.5 lift that it wont make me cringe when it goes away next year. I have though only heard good things about OME lifts, no one that ive seen has been able to say anything bad about 'em. I really appreciate your input on this.

So you what made you decide against the 2.5 RC lift.....after you read the lift reviews for them?

Ya, I see things here. .

Some people "love" their RC lift, but you have to think what they can compare it to in other lifts if they don't know what the other lifts ride, performance and quality is for (x) lift. Alot of new jeepers will jump in the water on the cheap lift and just not know any difference.


As for 2'' bb....doesn't matter the pucks are ALL the same. A poly spacer is a poly spacer. Not one will ride softer or better than the other. The difference will come from the shocks you decide on.

Great shocks... $$$$, fox, king, higher end bilistens
Better/good shocks ...$$$, bilistens, OME, rubicon express mono tubes
good shock..............$ Skyjacker hydros,

There are several bb kits out there.

In the end it's up to you and your budget bud. Don't not get the RC lift because of me if it's what you want but I wouldn't suggest it to you personally. OME 2.5 would be my suggestion for a 2.5'' lift but is more than the RC lift and out of some's price range.

For 31's, 2.5'' lift or less is what I recommend. 2'' BB being the cheapest route.

distortedtj You asked and I answered. I wouldn't tell anyone to use RC products. EVER. But that's me. Just saving you the hundreds in a lift your going to take off later.

An adjustable tracbar will be simple to set up just remove old and bolt in the new, not alot of skill needed to set the tracbar to center the axle. Just have to keep messureing and adjusting. Takes a little but it's simple.

Lift always depends on tire size amount of lift needed to properly clear tires in flex. 2.5'' is a good size with 31's.

AsylumTJ You guys are a lot of help i really appreciate you helping me out. So i've decided on the RC 2.5 inch lift, is it easier to get an adjustable track bar then having to redrill the bracket? im selling my motorcycle thurs. to start my fund for a RE LA, but with school its kinda hard, haha. Maybe in the next year or two i'll have the LA on it

distortedtj ^^^ yep ,,, a 2'' BB for now with those tires...and SAVE the money for a real quality lift kit. You have LOTS of tread on those 31's will take awhile to wear out.

jpdocdave i'd say 2 to 2.5 tops with those tires. 3.25 is gonna be a bit much for 31's. or if you're on a really tight budget, a 2" budget boost will look sweet.

AsylumTJ also i know from looking the other day there isnt any pucks. Like previously stated any recommendations for a budget friendly lift? i want to go with new springs and shocks not just pucks

AsylumTJ i know, its just others ive seen don't have as much of a gap like mine, guessing their springs are sagging, any recommendations for a lift? I've been looking at the RC 3.25 lift which is the 2.5 with .75 spacers (Jeep TJ Suspension Lift) wondering if i should go with this, i would like a heavy duty RE LA but thats a little out of the price range right now.

Check to see if you have a 2'' rubber puck on top of your coil spring (2'' budget boost)

Still looks stock.

So got 31x10.50's put on and noticed i have a bigger gap between the fender and wheel then other jeeps ive seen. i have not installed any lift so why would mine have this space(its good, not bad)???
