|Speed94||Im having some issues now after water was ingested by mine. I flushed it and it solved the problem for a little bit. Every trans is different, but Im getting mine rebuilt right after memorial day weekend. Im using a guy in PA JEEP TRANSMISSION REPAIR SERVICE - rebuilt transmissions with quality OEM Mopar parts Talked to him on the phone and he seems really knowledgeable. He does a shift kit, low stall torque converter, uses some sort of graphite rings that hold up to water better, trans cooler, and vent the trans. he is also redoing the front and rear diff vents as well as venting the transfer case and tying them up higher (he said in the cab, but will re-locate them to wherever I want) Hes doing it for 1495 which includes him coming to flatbed my jeep out to him and all the labor of removing and installing the trans. I just have to get a ride out to him to pick it up. 1 year warranty. Supposedly hes never had a 32rh come back after he was done with it.|

Worst case scenario...you spend $1650 instead of $1500.
Do the flush first.

|schnutzy||do a flush first. just a good flush and new fluid has prolonged my transmission several months, and its still running strong|

i would do the flush, as long as the guy doing it takes his time and does a very thorough job, otherwise its pointless. the pan is down and thats good, change the filter and put it back up. then i'd flush the cooler, there's an aerosol can you can buy and hook up to the line, remove the other one, and flush it through. blow that out real well, put it back together, fill the trans, and then do the flush. flush as much fluid as their flush machine will hold, don't just stop at 10, or 12 which is what most people do. i think mine at work holds 18 qts, do it all.
if you go that route, make sure they take all those steps, or else don't bother. if someone doesn't treat it like their own, and really try to save it, then its not worth it, some places will go through the motions, and still hope they can sell a trans.

|Atthehop||I would go for the rebuild and while they have it out extend the vent above the engine so the next time all that water will not go in. Do that for the ft and rear diff vents also. I will assume they are filled with water also.|

need opinions. tranny = total loss
Well I posted the other day about my bad experience with water and the 32rh 3 speed auto in my jeep. Well I'm left with 2 options as of today. I've been told I can spend 150 to have it flushed and hope for the best or I can have it rebuild for around 1500. Mechanic who I trust dropped the pan and found dirt in the pan. Would you guys go all out with a rebuild at this point or would you take a gamble on just flushing it? If I get it rebuilt do you guys have any suggestions on things I should do while its out and being rebuilt? Ie: heavy duty TC ect? Anyone ever had a shop relocate the breather without voiding the warrenty they gave on the tranny? I've got some decisions to make ugh :[ regardless the jeep will be getting fixed
