CLEJK XTRyan, I received my bumper last week. Here are some pics showing packaging as requested. The box and packaging were pretty solid. There were still spots on the corners that were worn so my guess is this occurred before shipping. Also managed to break one of the bolts during install. There was still enough thread for the nut to bite so I just added some loctite, makes me feel a little concerned about the quality of the bolts if my scrawny ass could do that... I will say though that it looks great on my jeep and was really an easy install minus the one bolt breaking

Looks like it can use the stock lights if you have them.

weissja36 Anyone upgrade your fogs to LEDs in your barricade bumper?

Wondering which fogs you went with and how easy the install was? Plug and play? How did you mount them?

I'm most closely looking at the truck lite fogs since I'm getting truck lite headlights. The JW Speaker fogs look amazing but are way too expensive.

brandon-99tj Holy crap!!!! Ryan wins the internet today!!! It's nice to see real, great customer service this day in age.

This is why I'll be ordering from him when I get around to upgrading.

EDIT: I was able to locate an old order number for you in our PM conversations and the credit was applied. You should have a confirmation email coming to you. You just have to call into 1-800-988-4605 M-F 9-8 est. when placing your next order to use it!

In the mean time I want to thank everyone for their feedback on the bumpers. Without that we wouldn't have the information to push back to Barricade and help them make a better product. Keep it coming!

It's not terrible, just not ideally what I want for the long run. I will probably upgrade in the Spring.

For now I will continue to touch up the rust spots and wipe down the rust coming from internal locations. Not the end of the world.

Ricochet: I will definitely try the mouse pad trick. Thanks!

Riccochet The rattling comes from how the handle is designed. You need to push the handle in to turn it. Likewise you can pull on the carrier and move it back. Releasing it sends it smacking back in to the metal washer. With me it probably has to do with the heavy tires/wheels I'm running. More weight that allows the carrier to load up the spring and move a bit. My little trick with the mouse pad quieted it down significantly.

I received my Barricade rear bumper a few weeks ago. Box was trashed and bumper needed multiple coats of Rustoleum in corners. Even that hasn't done the trick. I'm getting rust spots daily coming from the tire carrier mount. Also continuing to get rust near the swing arm latch. Installed 9/20/14.

I posted a review on ExtremeTerrain, but I guess my review didn't make the cut. It's been over a week and the review hasn't been posted. It was a One Star review, so don't be fooled by the fact that there are only Four & Five Star reviews listed on the site.

I would not purchase this bumper again for multiple reasons:
- The powder coat is just bad. There is no other way to put it. Even with multiple touch up coats of Rustoleum I continue to see rust daily.
- The trailer hitch is lacking. There are no spots for trailer chains which means if you want to be safe, you will need to use your rear shackles to chain the trailer which will require longer chains. Poor safety flaw in my opinion.
- There is also no way to mount a trailer plug for your lights, etc. This is just silly and now I've got my wiring just hanging.
- The latch for the tire carrier rattles which drives me nuts. I can already feel that the spring is getting weaker and I'm interested to see how long before the handle needs to be completely replaces.

Also know that the rear handle cannot be completely PlastiDipped because it has to slide. So be prepared for a bright silver handle.

If it wasn't such a pain in the neck to remove and pack and ship I would have requested a refund. I thought I would grow to like it, but as each week goes by I like it less and less.

At some point I will be replacing this bumper with something of better quality. I was definitely taken in by the 4 & 5 star reviews. In my opinion they are not representative of this bumpers actual quality.

At this point I will probably just remove it. Definitely not worth $700.

A shortsighted purchase on my part. Why would I take a vehicle with a tow package and make it unable to tow anything by paying $700 for a rusty bumper?
I'm sorry you're unhappy with your bumper. In response to your comment about the reviews on the site, we have a lot of them that come through and we have to cross check them to make sure they for the correct product, they aren't spam and that they don't have any foul language in them. After that they get posted, good or bad. We do NOT censor the reviews on the site and yours will go up once we check through it.

As others have said, the hitch isn't tow rated which is why there isn't a spot for chains or wiring.

As far as the latch and the powder coat go, I haven't hear of many people complaining of the carrier rattling or the powder coat not holding up. I'd be happy to send you out a new bumper to try, or I can set you up with a return if you just want to get something else entirely. I don't want you to have a bumper you're not happy with!

Just PM me and let me know how I can help.

Its not rated for towing so I wouldn't expect it to have safety chain hooks or places for the wiring.

I think they have a wrinkle touch up kit that might help you with the rust/finish issues. Try sending Ryan a pm and see if he can help you out.

Riccochet Liberty. Do you have an extra mouse pad laying around? This will solve the rattling handle. Just take the handle apart completely. It'll be a bitch getting it back together with the spring inside, but it's worth the trouble. Cut a bushing/washer to go between the handle and swinging arm. See, when your arm is latched you can pull the arm towards you a little. That's what's rattling. As time goes on the spring inside the handle gets weaker and it'll rattle more. Putting the mouse pad bushing in there eliminates the rattle.

Oh, the hitch is not tow rated. I wouldn't tow with it. It's fine for bike racks, carry racks and such. I might just cut mine off when I get the bumper line-x'd.

jay14sport I received my bumper at the end of sept and the cardboard box was much sturdier than what my rubi rails were shipped in. Both corners had bare metal showing but not too bad. touched up fine..Fit great.

They do seem quite similar... I decided to hold off on bumpers and just get the Teraflex hinge for now. Thanks for the feedback.

Does anyone have any pictures of how their bumpers were received since we change up the packaging? I'd love to hear some feedback, positive or negative. I look forward to hearing from you guys!
