The stock tires on our 09 Sahara have lasted almost 5000 miles now and haven't had any problems.
Funny thing about the Rubicon though! Although it was brand new and on the show room floor, I didn't notice how bad the tires were until I got it home.
Immediately had to make allowances for new tires and wheels. Got it all done just before they were about to blow! Now I've got all these wheels to git rid of but, no blowouts!!! Except the check book!
There's usually mud on it or rocks under it!
Welcome, and have fun with your Sahara!!!

|InfernoGirl||Good advice here! ^^^ If all else fails find a nice construction site to cruise around daily till you pick up enough nails/shrapnel to warrant a new set. I picked up 3 nails in 2 months time without even trying in my Mazda3....|

Heh Heh, my '08 Rubi tires were TOTALLY worn out at 5000 miles, man they were down to 11/16" and you couldn't even see the little molding "tits" anymore--time for newones
I sold the tires 32" BFG KMs and 17" wheels seperately on several forums and Craigslist
Went to 16" ProComps and Hankook Dynapros
You can sell your tires/wheels on forums and Craiglist--"free", goforit

Some tire stores will take the stock rim/tire combo in trade. Some dealers will give you a few bucks for them.
My humblest of humble opinions is that the stock Sahara tires are terrible; mine hydroplaned like crazy and were useless in any amount of mud. Forget about wet rocks.
Might as well replace the wheels when you go for rubber. 33"-35" rubber for 16" wheels is a heckuvvallot less expensive than for an 18" wheel. In fact, do it right, and the wheels pay for themselves at the first tire swap.
Obligatory shot of my Sahara:

|captblack||Mine lasted 4K miles - got tired of sliding around in the rain ... Went with oversize ProComp's on stock rims. Better warranty and a great ride, too.|

Upgraded to BFG LT255/75R17 T/A KM and they are LT type (light truck)
I gave my existing stock tires to someone who could use them..
There is nothing wrong with the stock rims...Stick with the stock rims as long as you can.. (rim offset and DW but that is an entire other story... )

|WranglerX2009||I hit 30k on my 09 this week and the tires are in need of a change..... I'm gonna keep on riding them however, until I can pony up the cash for new wheels and tires at the same time.|

|DANIMAL||I just picked up my 07 and with only 21,000 miles on it, the tires are in very good condition. When these wear out and I have the funds, I will get new (bigger) tires and different wheels. I will offer the old ones up for sale here or on Craigslist.org.|

|09sahara||What do all of you do with the old rim and tires?|

Omg, it's a 2009? Yep, they are totally worn out and sorely in need of being replaced with some larger ones...
There, verified by at least two people on the intertubes. Now you have an excuse

|DANIMAL||I am pretty sure they are just about shot now. You should get bigger ones and while you are at it get a lift.|

Generally how long do the stock tires on a 2009 Sahara last, I need an excuse to get new ones
