Jerry Bransford Another question has to do with the transmission type your TJ has and what transmission the donor vehicle had. If your 2001 has an automatic and the donor vehicle had a 5-speed manual transmission, your automatic will leak ATF big time. There is a fix for that so let me know if that's the situation.

littledeviltj what motor do you have in your 2001? what motor did the 97 have ? the reason im asking is because the 4cyl models came witha 21 spline input shaft in the np231. the 6cyl models came with a 23 spline input shaft. so obviously if you have a 4.0 and the 97 had a 4.0 yes it will work. hope that helps.

Transfer case issue

Hi This is my first thread as i am a new member, any way i drive a 2001 wrangler and i desroyed my t-case. So i bought a 1997 jeep to swap it with. my Question is will it be a direct bolt up
