I got mine from a family friend who rides a Harley...he switched his mirrors and offered up his stockers to me for nothing. You can find fancy mirrors online for pretty cheap... or if you don't mind a used set (typically Harley riders take GOOD care of their bikes so they'll look pretty new), check the classifieds section on various Harley forums. You can prolly find em for next to nothing on there...sometimes free + shipping.

Thanks! I can't wait til I have a trail cover...then I'll fully remove the top instead of just leaving it folded down...plus I'm waiting for a stray cat to turn my seats into a litter box...

It's a Jeep...lol...I haven't washed it since I bought it back in October.

I actually plan on scrubbing it down and getting it looking really good this summer...and then I'll work on keeping it that way. I got a friend who does detailing on the side and when I'm caught up with bills I'll prolly have him buff and wax it for me. Wheels need some serious shining...but I plan on switching to black steelies and 32's or 33's later this year so I won't be dumping much time and effort into making them look good. And I noticed when I pulled my spare tire cover after I bought it that my spare doesn't match (tire does, wheel doesn't).

burton160w I'm running shorties on mine and I absolutely love the way they look! Picked them up from a guy working at a local Harley dealer for $20 for a pair

Problem is that the passenger side is a hair too short but the driver side is perfect so I just run with the driver side.

sevenservices yeah, I have one with the short stem that I use on the drivers side.

tktj I have both long and short stem mirrors. I like the long stem better but both will work great.I still have a set of short stem ones in the for sale forum $15 shipped in the U.S. I use a flat washer insted of the beveled one so I have more threads at the bottom. I love haveing mirrors again.here are some pics Long stem and short stem

I agree with you 100%. Especially if you have half doors. They rattle like crazy. My rattle/wind noise has reduced a lot since upgrading to full doors.

Will Short Stem Harley Mirrors Work? (Answer Inside)

The answer is YES...but they're very very close...

I know someone had asked this in another thread and I'm on my lunch hour and don't have time to find it to answer it there. So the answer is here. lol

I've been doorless for the past 24 hours...and just swung past the house to install my mirrors just in case I get pulled over for being mirror-less.

I had scored some short stem Harley mirrors for free and some folks were under the impression that only long stems would work. The short stems are a little low, but still perfectly visible...the only issue I had was the part that goes down through the hinge is just barely long enough to go all the way through. I think only like 2 threads were exposed, but there was just enough to thread the nut on and tighten it down good and tight. I'll report back if the nuts break loose on my drive this evening. haha

Also, a note to those removing their doors for the first time...if you use the floor jack trick, make sure you either have someone holding the door while you're cranking on the jack or you only go up a 1/4" or so at a time. I couldn't get my driver side to break free for nothing so I cranked it up and was pushing on the Jeep slooooowly getting it to come loose...and suddenly it popped straight out of the hinges (the weight of the Jeep was resting on those hinges...lol). That door isn't super heavy, but when you're doing a one arm catch to prevent it from slamming to the ground, it appears much heavier.

Now I see why everyone drives doorless so much... it is such an awesome ride. Oddly enough, it also feels much smoother...I think a lot of the Jeep rattles are in the doors...
