No mostly I. drove Surburbans and GMC pickups. Saw no Jeeps. Lot of Toyotas, Mitsubishis, Nissan 4X4's.

Abdul-Hakeem Yes, please. Jeddah is excellent for offroading, I go literally almost every day. You can drive basically all day in the desert in a straight line from here, from Bahra to the south of Mecca. You can be airing down 30 min. from downtown Jeddah. This is the secret of happiness here. Also, there are running springs around. PM me, I'll give you my gmail and then I can share maps with you.

Yes, I'm in Jeddah. May I PM you? I have loads of questions, LOL. But don't worry, I've done quite an extended research

Abdul-Hakeem Welcome, where are you in Saudi? Jeddah has maybe 4 or 5 wrangler groups. Also, you can go off road any time as long add you want, remember fuel is cheap! And the land is open. I think Saudia must be one of the best places for a 4x4. Enjoy.

Hello everyone,

Yeah, I'm not anywhere near 99.999% of the members here but I can't wait to buy my first, and hopefully not last, Jeep.

I have to admit that I learned a lot from this great forum while researching for information on my next purchase.

I'm planning to buy a new wrangler 2012+ (new engine). Most probably it will be a Sport version but it never hearts to ask for a second opinion . I thought of a Sport version as I would like to gradually build and uprate it (Lift-kit, Wheels/Tires, Suspension, Regearing, etc.) over time. A Rubicon doesn't suits me, although I think it is an awesome package. But putting all that premium on extra features that I don't want to have at the first place is not justifiable! (Sat Nav., Bluetooth, Leather/Heated seats, etc.). In addition to that, I think the local dealer never intended to getting Rubicons as I almost never saw one in town beside's the one I saw today in-front of their showroom but that was a Red JKU while I'm looking for a 2dr JK.

The Jeep will be my DD with occasional off-road trips. Let us just say 65% DD and 35% Off-road (mostly sanding or "sand-duning", if that's even a word!) and I guess I'de have to join the local rock-crawling group

So what do you think?
