|mameyj||I use 87 octane and as far as brands, I use arco or mobil haven't noticed a difference between the two.|

|mameyj||You can get the regulator at any auto parts, I got mine from autozone for 20 bucks it goes on the fuel line between the filter and the carb. You should also look up nuter bypass, my jeep was running like crap before i did it to mine.|

|mameyj||Do you have a pressure regulator? I have the same carb with regulator set at 3.3lbs, before the regulator I was having similar problems.|

|s_man692000||DRY GAS ,I have also heard of people using acetone ,but never tried it .But you should be able to get dry gas just about anywhere .|

Take it back to the person who you paid to install your carb and have him check it for vacuum leaks. this is very common after a new carb is installed.
what carb did you go with ?

|flatline||check the fuel for water/dirt. some carbs have a small filter on or in the carb. worked on a RV for a friend and there was dirt in the tank. run good then the carb filter would plug. just pull line off of carb, have a cup to catch fuel, dissconect coil so it won't start, and have someone crank motor. this also gives you a chance to check flow, and to put a presure gauge on line to check presure.|

|AfterMath||Have you tried cleaning your battery connections? They could be oxidized and causing this issue. Use a wire brush and clean the terminals on the battery and the cables.|

New Jeeper. Fuel Issue? 2nd post
well I made a post about a week about an issue I was having. If you want the long story, its on posted on the first page of posts, titled "new jeeper. Fuel issue?". But for a summary, had a new carb put on by mechanic, ran great for 2 days. Now, after about 5 or more minutes of driving, jeep sputers and loses power if going more than 30 mph. Sometimes it dies completely, but I can only continue to drive it if I slow down to about 25 mph or less.
If I step on the gas pedal, I can still hear the carb hissing, but there is no acceleration. I am new to this, so I don't know if this is a fuel issue, or a spark issue, but here is what I have done to try and solve the issue.
new: battery, carb, fuel lines, fuel filter, ignition coil, distributor cap, rotor, spark plugs, plug wires, ignition control moduel.
What could this be? I have thought maybe fuel pump, o2 sensor. The vacum lines are connected and look ok.
Any ideas would be appreciated. Thanks again guys, this site has already proven to be very helpful
