I thought I at least did tolerably well, but looking at some of you guys I got hosed
2010 JK, Freedom hardtop, AC, automatic transmission (shut up, Anchorage has a surprising amount of traffic.) Sticker was $24600, manager's special was $23K with GMAC financing, which I can and will refinance after 6 months. Pretty close to blue book for up here in AK.
I got $1500 on my trade-in, a fairly well-optioned 2001 Olds Alero that has admittedly seen better days. They tried to hose me on it at first.
On the bright side, AK is tax-free, and things are a little more expensive up here to begin with. I was seeing used '06 Wranglers with 40K miles going for $19K I figured why not just spend the extra few grand for a new one with a warranty and somewhere I could take it in case of things like...recalls. Squee.

|JKGIRL77||I got my 2010 sport for 18,999 and my payments are only 364 a month. Its an automatic, 4x4 with manual door locks and windows, no cruise control but I think its a steal at that prices esp the monthly payments.|

new wrangler sport
I just picked up a wrangler sport and paid just under the windshield sticker price with all taxes ,all dealer costs drive away price.
The pricing was fair

2010 Rubicon; auto, dual top group, my/gig/nav/uconnect. 33K out the door.
Definitely had more options on it than I would have picked and I wasn't sure I wanted a Rubi, but at the price I thought it was too good to pass up.

|biffman||I got a really sweet deal on my 2010 Sahara Unlimited because of a family member that works for Chrysler. It made the whole "negotiation" process moot and was pretty smooth and easy. We just looked at the invoice price of a few that I was interested in, took my discount off the invoice plus the rebate at the time. Now, I did finance with them and I did take the extended warranty so they made money off of that. No need to feel bad about getting a good price, I need to feed my family too.|

Dealer Invoice on my new Wrangler Unlimited Mountain was about $2600 under the sticker ($29,720). We really wanted to wait until around Labor day to buy but a volume dealer that needed to hit a number kept coming back sweetening the deal. When all was said and done we were at more than $5000 below invoice plus we got the $500 in Mopar parts. Just too sweet to pass on. Looks great in my garage and I love it.
I really liked that they did not try to sell me magic wax and other junk I did not need. We did take the tire and wheel insurance and the prepaid service but that only added a few hundred and is worked through Chrysler. We put close to half down so we have a low payment per month.
As a final note I have always found Memorial Day and Labor Day weekends to be the best days to get a deal on a new car.

One way to save yourself money when you buy a new vehicle is in financing.
Be sure your credit is in good shape and get the best interest rate possible. I got mine at 0% which just tickled the heck out of me.
Avoid add ons as mentioned above like "paint protection" and read your contract carefully looking for mystery fees.
Should you decide to purchase an extended warranty BE VERY CAREFUL. Buy ONLY the Chrysler warranty and read it all the way through. What some of them say they cover makes it look like a good idea until you read the fine print and see what they DON'T cover. Particularly if your vehicle has been modified. I learned that one the hard way.

I find these threads interesting. First off, the dealer is entitled to make a profit so he can pay property taxes and support your kid's soccer team. He also provides a job or two in these tough times. I often times wonder how many of the tradesmen on forums like this would call for sticking it to the dealer and then turn around a cry when asked to discount his plumbing/electrical/carpentry skills?

I purchased a 2010 Sahara back in late Feb.
In addition to what comes standard I got:
INV was 27,576
I paid 26,400 after the $750 rebate that was available at the time.
I paid cash.
I feel like I got a good deal, but probably could have gotten it for a little less...
I'm happy though!

|Bennny||I got mine for 2 grand under invoice. 2010, six speed, hard top, upgraded wheels and tires, customer preferred package, etc. Under 24,000 including ttyl I immidately asked to see the invoice price and went from there, I don't deal with that sticker crap. With the incentives dealers get they can easily afford to give it to you under invoice|

|phottomatt||I probably paid more than I should have for my Sahara, 28k with tow package and dual top, but it was flame red which is a limited color and very hard to find. Also keep in mind that Jeeps are among the top if not the best at retaining resale value.|

|InfernoGirl||Invoice and sticker are two different things. I've been told by someone in the business that there isn't much markup on Wranglers. If you want to get employee pricing/ 1% under invoice, you can spend $25 and join treadlightly.org They will send you an email telling you that as a perk, you get employee pricing on a new Wrangler. You also get $100 rebate on select goodyear tires. Best $25 I ever spent! Well, except for buying my WF membership, which has saved me more than that over the last year!|

If you aren't in a rush you can get a pretty good deal. I picked up my 2010 4 door Hard top Auto for just over 1K under invoice here in Phoenix. Be sure they don't try to charge you for "paint protection package" or other mystical additions.
I was really planning to wait for a 2011 and kept telling them that. I guess they were close to a # to get Chrysler dealer incentives and did the deal. No trade, financing + mopar bucks included.

|Bryans2000TJ||For what it is worth, I purchased mine in mid March. 2010 Sahara 2 door. MSRP was $30,100. Out the door was $26,900, I pay TT&L. No trades, cash deal. I had to drive 200 miles to get it but worth it.|
