Scotty355 Ditched my cell phone last year (cingular) , after 10 yrs of always carring it, losing it, changing plans, no reception, high bills. I do not regret getting rid of it. I actually feel less stressed!

The company I was working for in 2000 dropped our nextel's and switched to T-Mobile to save a buck.............You save so much because you can never get a connection to make a call. Had to be the worst coverage of the bunch. Was making tin cans and string look good!

Odhinn I wish I could destroy my cell phone. The phone has become a leash, but I have to have it for work. Believe it or not but my girl told me it was dangerous not to have a cell phone with me and what would happen if i broke down. I then told her that I would hoof it just like I use to when phones were still attached to walls.

Dare2BSquare In my opinion, cell phone companies are about the only private sector companies that seem to know less about what they are doing than the government does. If you work for the government, congratulations on your great benefits and retirement package and I don't mean to offend you. You would think that someone could train somebody that deals with the public better than the government does. Take your pick state or federal.

04moneypit Cell phone companies are such a pain, and it seems everyone "has" to have one. I could easily do without, but I'm locked into a contract and don't want to pay the exhorbitant fee to cancel.

I had T-Mobile but I couldn't sit in my living room and talk on the phone, had to go outside. And that was smack dab in the middle of their service area in Dallas. Anyone want to buy a T-Mobile phone I have lying around? Great condition with a leather cover.

MouthfulOfGrass Not to give credit to Sprint, because I'm sure they're not good either, but i've been on the line trying to solve a "simple" problem for a 1/2 hour now..........with Verizon..........

kg4kpg I've had a lot of billing problems with Sprint over the years but my wife damaged her phone while I was in Iraq and when she bought a new phone somehow got us stuck in another 2 year deal. I will be dropping them when it is up this October and going to either Verizon or Cingular.
Problem is that they are never wrong unless you keep yelling.

MouthfulOfGrass Funny, I switched from Verizon to Sprint.

I have issues with Verizon that are still not resolved.

For some reason they wanted to charge me more just because my contract ended. Then when I cancelled, they want to charge me for services that I have never used.

With cell phone service, I don't think everyone can win, all the time.

I have a guy I work with that states that Sprint is the greatest ever. He's one who claims that he has service when he's somewhere and none of his crowd have service. If he's somewhere where service is available, he has it, where others with Verizon or Cingular, etc. , won't .

So far (2 months) the only benefit I've seen is that I have service inside my own house, where with Verizon I did not.

Adventurous I've been with Verizon for almost 10 years and haven't had a problem with them but have had a problem with the insurance that they offer. I knew that I would have to pay a $50 deductible but I wasn't expecting to have to file a police report when I lost the phone in order to file a claim (must be filed over the phone or on the internet). Nor did I expect to get a refurbished phone as a replacement that took 5 days to get to me. Ended up sending the thing back because it wouldn't charge and it took another 5 days to get that phone - I refused to take a refurbished one so they sent me a new one that was much better than my old phone. I'm happy now.

Odhinn I sympathize with you. I had Sprint for years simply because it was the only service that reached all the places I regularly visited. A year ago I went to Cingular and was extremely happy to call Sprint and inform them to Cancel my service.

AzTJ lol - I have Verizon and have had zero problems with them so far, almost 2 years.

i yelled at them for charging me to much and they gave me a month free!
I'm gonna call back and yell some more!

skeeter We were with Nextell for years and had the same kind of crap, worst company I've ever had to deal with.

I HATE Sprint!

So I cancelled my account in december after rolling over to nextel ( I had to in order to keep from incurring a $300 dollar service charge) and I get a bill for all my account and service charges from billing period dec.-feb 28 2007. They just kept charging me for an account I had cancelled and verified cancelled through their sister company. I've never had so many problems during and after a company's service as I have with sprint. If any small business ran a company like they did, they'd be belly up. Sorry for the rant, but I just spent 30 min (most of it on hold) getting it fixed, and then they just hung up on me while I was on hold. Sprint, now with nextel pppffffttttt!
