|N8whitie||Look on Craigslist or Ebay man, it might be cheaper than a new one from Quadratec.|

|Jalus Cornerious||All right. As for the other spot, how do I smooth it out after welding on the new piece? Bondo?|

|AfterMath||You could. But with rust that bad, I'm sure almost your entire fender is done. New fender is the way to go.|

|Jalus Cornerious||My hood is fine. 150 is more than I was hoping to pay for a new fender (I've already got to get a new tailgate). The spot on the fender is no more than 2 inches long, think I could cut it out as well?|

|AfterMath||Possibly look into a new hood also?|

Quadratech sells them, or you could try a junkyard, but a fender from the yard would probably have beginnings of rust, I would just a brand spanking new one from quadratch.
Definitely just sand away all the paint to see where all the rust is and cut it all out, especially since you're getting it painted anyways.
The only way to stop rust is to cut it out, IMO.

|Jalus Cornerious||Thanks for the info! I think I'll grind it down some to see all that needs to be cut and then weld on some new metal. What's a good place to get a replacement fender?|

|AfterMath||It looks like your welds are rusting? Better sand them and paint them up quick!!!|

|toshpate||had a friend say he can grind them out and put in metal body filler? mine isnt quite as bad but it is bubbling through the paint|

For the first couple pictures, I would suggest getting a new fender.
The bottom ones...cut em out, cut a piece of metal, and weld in.

|ashevilleyjmike||Wow, I've got some rust starting in the exact same spots...not nearly as bad though. I'd like to learn how to fix this too so I can get it before it gets that bad.|

Really bad rust spots!!
I've got some bad rust spots on my Jeep that need fixing. I don't know what's been done to them but they have rusted all the way through. I'm going to repaint my Jeep so I need these fixed. What's the best way to do this?
