Rover Bolts are 7mm x 1.00...I bought 25mm (1 inch) length plus flat washers and lock washers...worked like a charm.

flatline somethings you buy new, because it's such a pain in the but to twice. headers to me is a buy new item. however, sometimes you find gold in the junk yard. someone may have put new stuff on then scraped it. but thats a rare find.

Rover Thanks for the info, learn something new everyday.

I need to replace the exhaust manifold, it has a crack in it. Do people risk buying a junkyard piece or do they opt to spend a couple of extra dollars for a new one?

flatline should be. Engines, trans,driver side axle, rear axles all the same. I use a lot of cherokee parts. to hard to find wranglers in the local junk yard. can even swap some parts with TJ's. But stay with 91 and newer, 90 and down are different, some things swap but not much.

Rover Are the exhaust manifolds interchangeable for the cherokee 4 cyl as well?

Rover Had a brainstorm at lunch...I'll get under there tonight with my tap and die set...should be able to find the right size that way...I assume it is a common bolt.

Ok,thats right I remember having the conversation with a buddy of mine about the sensor's location ,man that would suck if it was inside the bellhousing lol ,Man I hope you find the bolts you need ,must be aggrevating to say the least .

flatline not sure but I think the bolts are a shoulder bolt to locate the sensor. I would check dealership, can't be that much. Or I'd go to the local pick&pull and take them out of a simular cherokee(there lots of them in junk yard) Parts interchange between cherokee and wrangler. Just find a 4 cyl. 91-95.

Rover It bolts to the bellhousing. Yes to the lock washers. I might pull a bellhousing bolt to see if by chance they are the same as the crank sensor bolts. I'd guess grade 5s are more than sufficient since there is no stress on those bolts other than holding a tiny piece in place.

Probably going to end up buying a bunch and finding a couple of keepers, then return all the others I don't use...a hassle but what can you do?

s_man692000 Also,I have learned that there is not a lot of engine bolts that are fine thread ,most fine thread bolts will be found on suspension parts and body .But you want to be sure to use grade 8 bolts if you can ,but since it is the crank sensor grade 5 should be ok .Use lock -tite or lock washers so this doesnt happen to you again .The crank sensor is inside the bell housing if I am not mistaken ?

s_man692000 Rover ,let everyone know where you are from,maybe a forum member close by is mechanically inclined and possibly has a motor out and can look,or has the ol' coffee can full of various bolts you could try instead of buying stuff you don't need .

Bolts for crank position sensor

I have a 1991 Wrangler, my bolts have fallen out.

Does anyone have access to bolts that can tell if they are metric/SAE, fine/course thread, approximate length.

I stopped by a dealership on the way to the office this morning and the bolts are not in their system. No specs...service guys looked at me like I had 3 heads when I asked if one of the mechanics might have a clue about general specs of the bolts.

Surely someone on here has one of these to look at...if possible could I get some of the info listed above?

My other option is to hit Lowe's and just buy a bunch of bolts in different sizes, lengths, etc. I'd rather not have to do that.
