|CapptainObvious||Ok. Thanks. I think I'll keep looking for wheels w/ less backspacing and maybe go with a little narrower of a tire then.|

Yea, but with that much backspacing you will need spacers on all wheels, should be 4/4.5" backspace, 5" is a little to much for that wide a tire !!
Even then, with a 32" tire, you might get a LITTLE rubbing, on street, it all depends on the tie MFG

Can I put a 12.5" tire on these?

All 32" tires measure 31"+ when installed, all 33" tires measure 32"+ when installed (except mine)
Advertised sizes don't really mean squat, when you vary the wheel width and jeep weight (tires installed) !!

haha i can't remember what the numbers were on the side, but when i measured it it looked to be about 31 or so.
the reason i posted is because i want to get new tires and new wheels and don't want them to stick out too far. my bad.

Then you already have 32" tires you numbskull! Take a look at the sidewall and see if they say 255 75R 17.

|06-20-2010 08:28 PM|
|CapptainObvious||^^I like that. Can you not get a 32" tire in 12.5"? Also, the stock tires on a 2010 sport, are they 31"?|

I'm running a 12.5" wide 35 on wheels with 3.75 backspace. I'm out 2" from the fenders.
If you like that look, get 33/12.5. Then some wheel spacers or new wheels.
If you push out skinny tires it might look funny.
that's my driver side rear

|jonesz||A lot will depend on the back spacing of the wheel you get. The stock tire is about 10.5" wide but the stock wheel has over six inches of backspacing. A LOT of people are running 12.5" wide tires with aftermarket wheels at 4"-4.75" of backspacing, which sticks the tire out of the fender a little. The reduced backspacing is more for clearance issues inboard of the tire, but it looks cool, too.|

|iamagolfspaz||With 32's I would go with a 10.5 wide.|

I would be curious as well

right size for the job
Hey all. So I was gonna wait until the stock tires on my 2010 Sport Unlimited wore out to get some more beef, but I don't think I can hold out that long. I want to get a 32inch tire w/ the Cragar Soft 8s because they're super cheap and i think they look sweet.
Question is: How wide of a tire should I go with if I don't want it to stick out of the stock fender flares too far? Maybe stick out like 2 inches on each side?
I am not planning on getting new fender flares, but I do plan on doing the TF 2" leveling kit before adding these tires/wheels.
