|Dons_Jeep||Welcome to the Forum Darren, My advice to you is to look for rust both under it and along all the seams in the body. I don't know how Jeeps sell out there in Colorado, but here in Boston they sell fast. If you find one you like buy it because it might not be around long enough for you to think about. Dont settle for anything less than a 4.0 with a hardtop. You can always get a bestop softy later.
Look at the engine, the airbox and how clean it is. Check the oil, get dirty and crawl underneath it. Look for leaky seals and leaks. Look for rust on the frame especially around the very rear frame rails. Look under the carpet if it still has it. Take a buddy that has a jeep if you have one.

|DarrenDizz||yeah I love the bars in the older YJ's. I think my preference is F.I. cuz of prior experiences with carbs in high altitude, i live at like 8,000 ft. and drive and wheel even higher than that.|

|JeepFrogger||I'm torned between both, I myself drive a Carb YJ but a close friend has a Fuel Inj. and did not have to go thru the initial carb. drama...love them both, I could'nt choose...I do like my bars best though lol|

|JeepFrogger||Are u considering both a carb.YJ or a fuel Inj.YJ?...I dig them both but the earlier YJ seems to have come with a weak carb. I knew this b4 I got it so, replaced it was. U know u might or might not have to replace it...but then again on either one u will have to dish out sum cash for repairs n mods...but well worth it! Well, welcome to WF n I'll leave the congratz on the Jeep for later.|

|toshpate||that too but leaks in motor, trans, axles, brakes, radiator, mine leaks from all of the above ha ha ha wait not the radiator yet...but its 21 years old....it will have issues..|

Future Jeep owner... next month in Snowmass, CO
Hey thanks for the hospitality at wrangler.forums. I've found lots of good info here. since I've been lookin for a new set of wheels, I've been eating, sleeping, and dreaming about Jeeps.
I've lined out a several YJ 4.0L's to scope out at the beginning of next month..... since I've never owned one... what are some problems that i want to avoid all together?
any help poppin up in reply's will be appreciated!!
