|PecosRiver||Ouray, Colorado or Moab, Utah are both great places to visit. Ouray does have rental Jeeps, including Rubicons. We go to one or the other every year.|

|drivebytruckerz||No oil in the Atlantic. Go to Savannah, or St. Simons Island, Georgia. Or BOTH!|

Hey...as somebody who lives in Nebraska I resent that remark...even if it is true.
Actually, there are a number of pretty interesting things to see if you take some of the lesser traveled roads, even in Kansas, if you like western history and so forth. Then, once you get to Denver (eastern Colorado is pretty dull as well), things really get interesting and you have all sorts of great options to jeep around in. Sounds like a great time, and I would definitely take the jeep and take the roads less traveled!

Vacation Destination Ideas....
So I have july 9th through the 18th off from work and I had planned on going to Destin, FL with my best friend. Well the oil just washed up on Pensacola beach yesterday which isn't far from Destin so I believe my beach dreams have been shattered...
Oh well, that can't keep me down. I'm envious of people that have no set path and just wander around without a purpose. Sometimes I wish I didn't have a job so I could do that... Not sure how I would fund that with no money but don't piss on my parade! So I got the wild idea to load up my camping box, a bunch of clothes and hit the road with my buddy. Just let the wind carry us.
I think I want to head east from here (Arkansas) and maybe hit some of the top 4x4 spots that this country has to offer. I also want to see the beautiful landscape and just get lost. I would like to just go exploring with no sense of time and no rush to get places and make reservations. I plan on camping most of the time but getting a nice hotel in a few cities is not out of the question at all. So reccomend me some places to stop along my journey. Things to see, Places to eat...etc.
Here's my next thought. I love my jeep but obviously its not the ultimate highway machine. I would love to go all over in it but Im really not that confident that it would make it. I'd hate to be 1000+ miles from home and it break down. So I might take my 03 Dodge ram, so then I guess I really couldn't go fourwheeling in it. So that sucks. Any suggestions on this? Maybe a rental jeep?
Lets see what you guys got. Also any resoruces to make it easier to plan would be helpful. Maybe like campground map across the US and things like that.
