TJeepman Noisy idle in neutral, due to gear noise, is common. Mine has done it forever. Press in the clutch and it goes away.

Hi all, first post!!!
I have a 2002 TJ 6cyl 5 speed

I just purchased it and noticed when I push in the cluch their is no noise, when I release the cluch when it is not in gear a noticable grinding sound appears. It becomes very loud when I turn on the jeep I can hear what sounds like a desel engine stoping.

any help would be great
