|flatline||how much play is in the rear end? wild guess there. brakes locking, calipers. squealing, who did the brakes? and even though they say you dont need to put stuff on the back of the pads, I've had to put either anti seize or the disc brake stuff on them.|

|BigSahara||The brakes are all new. The rotors and drums have been replaced along with the pads and shoes and all hardware. The pad though are crappy metallics so i know they are not helping. The caliper pins are greased but lock when I slam the brakes first thing in the morning, then they don't lock after some driving. There are 90k miles on the Jeep. All u-joints and the rear drive shaft are new, even the ball joints in the front are new. I am thinking it could be the control arms shifting. They have rubber bushings and the zerks to grease them are rusted closed. What else could it be?|

|530ktm||Lots of factors here. How many miles are on the jeep? Clunking could be bad U joints as one possibility. Are the brakes rusty? Need more information and I am sure more will join in on this.|

Shifting gears and brakes make a lot of noise
My automatic 2000 TJ is making a lot of noise. When I shift in reverse, I get this squeaking and/or a hard clunk. Then I'll hit the breaks gently and come to a squealing halt. When the brakes are released it sound like the moving parts of the front and rear brakes are not greased. I have taken both apart and everything looks normal. It is the calipers? Also, what would cause the hard clunking sound when shifting in reverse and drive?
Also hoovering around 2k rpms the Jeep lurchs forward and revs up by itself. I am not getting a code for a bad TPS. What is it?
