N39-W120 I picture is worth a 1000 words so instead of describing... Given time you will learn the limitations of what you can/can't do. I still have a few problems but it has yet to stop me...

back surgery

Thanks, WildBill! Went to dr. today and they told me to use my judgement. I'm going back to work on Friday (4 weeks, 2 days post surgery) so that's pretty good I think. I did get my stool out and got in and took it for a quiet little ride up the road and back, washed it and pasrked it back in the garage and, as WB said, no worse for the wear. I'm inching it closer under the winch to get that top off but the BF said he would have nothing to do with helping me til towards the end of July, so It looks like I'll have to recruit someone else! lol I am a bit more sore today but could be also because I washed the vehicle which was something new to me to do since surgery- who knows? At least getting back to work will give me something else to think about without so much spare time on my hands. Thanks again everyone!

WildBillJr I had an L5-S1 discectomy and fusion in Jan. I went out for some light wheelin this Sat. I am very sore now, but not worse for wear. Getting in and out of my Jeep can be a pain sometimes, literally. Just hang in there and let yourself heal! When I was down and out wanting to wheel I just started researching and buying parts for my Jeep and looked forward to wheeling when I felt better. Dont rush it. Trust your Dr. and your body.Take care and Good luck.

kellyjo29 Thanks for the responses everyone! So there is still some hope.... good to know. I certainly do not want to be in worse shape then before surgery that's FOR SURE! Glad I popped in here before heading out to clean up the garage- had step stool in hand to move it out, clean it up and put it back in circulation. But now, I think I'll leave her dusty and parked where she's at- besides if I move it back into the main part of the garage, before one knows it, it would be under the hard top winch and the top would be gone before even I realized what was goin on...better let sleeping dogs lie for now. Thanks again everyone!

Jeeperpd Greetings! I had an ACDF on C5/C6/C7 in January. Have one Titanium Plate and 6 screws in my neck. It just takes time to "get back into the swing" - and I understand your frustration. Definitely take it easy! I'm still not 100%, but you will see improvement each week!

back surgery

you need time to heal. the bone where your "new hardware" was applied, needs time to heal or harden up. Might want to to check with with your md. Screw it up and you will be worse off than before your surgery. When your md gives green light to wheel, I would invest in a seat that will minimize the jarring off road and also the softest suspension available. Good luck! getting older is no fun.

Back surgery and still able to go Jeepin'?

Been off list for a couple months- had a spinal fusion and some screws placed. Just wondering if anyone else has had this type of back surgery and still able to get into the jeep? I had a laminectomy and had no issues with the jeep even after the 4 inch lift was placed (other then getting in cuz I'm vertically challeneged!). But had surgery this time much more in depth and am 3 weeks out and am just bummin' because that jeep is just mocking me everytime I go into the garage I swear. Getting into an explorer has been a bit of an issue since surgery, so I'm not quite ready for the challenge of getting into a lifted vehicle. I do realize everyone is different and heals in different ways, but it sure would be great to hear from others who have also dealt with these types of issues.
