Jerry Bransford Is your rear pinion at the stock factory angle? It looks a tad too high which can cause vibrations that intensify during accleration and reduce or go away when your foot is off the gas.

mrcarcrazy Couple of things - don't worry with getting it realigned. alignment can cause things like death wobble, but not a "vibration".

Wheel balance will cause issues that are speed dependent, but it sounds like your issue may be RPM dependent. (since it goes away when not in OD)that one actually confuses me, not enough experience w/ such issues.

CubbieBlue It's pretty hard to take a decent picture of this with my BB but here is the pinion angle...I think it looks a little different here than it does in real life but whatever:

Order in which to tackle vibration problem

I get a vibration on take off, and a rhythmic, pulsing vibration from 50-60 mph.

Older threads say: U joints, driveshaft, possibly an issue with the stock skid plate/muffler vibration (in other words, deal with it)

The rhythmic pulsing vibration goes away if I turn the OD off...which is odd. I guess that points to that driveshaft or possibly that skid plate issue.

Anyway, I plan on doing this:
Removing the front DS and testing.

If noise is still there I will replace the front DS and remove the rear.

When people drive with only the front in you just put it in 4 H and wheel away?

Anyway, if the vibes are STILL there I will go ahead and get my tires balanced/alignment done (again)

Then if it is STILL there I guess I can play with the pinion angle.

If it's still there then I guess it's something else!!!

Anyways does this plan of attack sound decent? Should I do anything in a different order?

I guess I could just drive with the OD off, but I hate having to modify something that i shouldn't have to in order to avoid a problem.

BTW there is no play in my rear driveshaft and no abnormal play in my front (I can move it to the left and right about half an inch until it makes a knocking noise and stops)

I can take a picture of my pinion angle if that will help.

Of course I have had two guys look at my pinion angle and I got two different opinions..one guy said eh that angle is a bit weird. Another said hey that angle looks good, a hell of a lot better than mine!

SO who knows....
