had the same prob in my 06.
On the passenger side you'll see a vacumum line that goes into the fire wall. This line also goes over to the drivers side in the engine compartment. about halfway up the engine on the drivers side there is a vacuum port it is supposed to plug into. I found the boot on my vacuum line was really sloppy when i put it on the port so I tightened a worm clamp around it, has worked fine ever since.

Question on AC/HEAT Directional Control
I have a 2003 Wrangler Sahara, 87,000 miles. My AC works, but the directional control isn't working, it seems to only blow on the windsheild, and feet, nothing from the two centre vents, this is the same on heat and AC.
My question is, is this control electronic, or mechanical, could something of just come loose behind the dash board, is it an easy fix?
Also, a second question, I have cruise control, but that doesn't work properly either, the light comes on showing it is on, but the functions don't work, that is it doesn't cruise.
