AzTJ Hmm... so the PCM will need to be modded? Or could I just swap out one from a '98? If you happen to find out PLEASE let me know! Looks like I'll need to be buying an FSM anyway and do a little of my own research.

Thanks

debruins you can always use a shifter from a bike and connect it like a hand throttle would be connected for a cruder way

or do this

even though it says for off road cruise control, not sure why you couldn't do it on road

MR.CLIFFORD From the research I've done it is the PCM that needs the modifications. I have a local buddy swapping out his NV3550 for the AW4 so I've been checking up on it more lately. I haven't jumped into the FSM to figure it out either. But what really sucks is your 97 won't even be close to what is in my manual and what will be in his 04. I'm going to sit down and figure it out for definite because he wants his cruise to work and I don't think it should be that difficult to wire it up.

Getting Cruise Control with AW4

Ok - I have been reading, and reading, and reading but want to know just a few things. I have seen all kinds of writeups with people doing this swap going from an AX-15 and TF999 to the AW4... but in every instance the TJ was a '98 an newer. Know I know that '98 TJ's and up came with cruise control, as an option... and mine is a '97 which didn't have it(something I miss dearly). SO if I am going to do the swap, what would I need to get the cruise control as well? I don't plan on doing this swap untill next year(maybe sooner), but am wondering if getting the cruise control will be too much to hassle with, but I at least want overdrive.

Thanks guys!
