edit: leaks slowly at idle, more when moving/ how much fluid did you need after you dropped the pan?

how much fluid did you need after you pulled the pan off?

Jerry Bransford Yep, once you get the transfer case unbolted from the transmission, it's pretty easy to replace the transmission output shaft seal. It can be replaced in just a few minutes without special tools and without getting inside of the transmission itself. Apply a thin coating of grease to the inside seal edges so as to minimize the chance of damage to the new seal when you go to bolt the transfer case back up to the transmission.

SaharaNavyGuy Hey Dave is there a specific name for the seals? I want to do a little research on them before attempting it TIA

jpdocdave probably $18 in two seals, and just removing the t case.

SaharaNavyGuy Yes that's where the t case bolts to the trans. How much will something like this cost to repair? Thanks Dave

jpdocdave i can't tell much from the pic, but is that where the t case and trans bolt up? there's a seal on each unit there, a trans seal, and a t case seal that go bad.
