I have the TLs in now & they def need to be aimed. they are pointing in diff directions. I see hot spots w/ them & it's odd to see them moving around on the around independently as I turn. I hope after I aim them this won't be an issue.
I had HIDs before these and had no issues like this. so far I'd say the HIDs were nicer. if the hi beams had worked properly I wouldn't have pulled them.

Picture of the trucklights installed
I didn't see many pics of the Trucklights in the thread, so here are mine in a 2013 Oscar Mike edition, silver grill, black hood. The lights look black from pretty much all angles.
The "Y" pattern in the beam doesn't really bother me, and like I said, the light from the small PIAA LED fogs matches the color, and fills gaps in the close up portion of the beam.
I did drop my beam slightly from the factory lights (they were already properly adjusted for the lift/tires), if you don't, the high beam is too high.

|DallasJKU||The X and V's are way too annoying for me also. When I need a lot of light my D2's on the windshield and 10 spot/flood combo on the hood provide way better light than the TL's.|

|jadmt||I have 30,000 miles on my trucklites and can not imagine going back to stock head lights. take the time to adjust them properly, which can be a pain but the end results are well worth it.|

For me the trucklites have been great, and the high beams are crazy awesome. I have the piaa led fog lights which work well to fill in the little things it of uneven cover I get up close on lowbeam. The only downside on the anti flicker harness is a slight delay when turning high beams off. Been running the tls for 10 months and have been really pleased.

The JW's look pretty nice, but the high beams seems to me almost worthless. My GE/TL do have a pretty decent pattern, but if I was to do this again, I would probably choose the KC's because of the lack of the "x" or"v" hotspots of the TL/GE. For the Amazon price of $160 of the GE's, you do save quite a but of dough.
If you search the forums, you can find a comparison of ALL of these LED headlights. ALL of these are MUCH better than stock. I have seen a HID writeup someone had that looked really good too, but...NO highbeams in those headlights.

I too have the GE Nighthawks. They are made by TL. Glad to see that they are on sale again. When I bought mine, they were $140 each with the "coupon". If you have not done this yet, I had to install a second set of adjustment screws on my '10 JKU. After that, I was able to line these up perfectly between the stripes on the freeway and put the light exactly where I like them. I added a capacitor to the low beam circuit instead of the anti-flicker harnesses. I did not add the cap to the high beams since you really don't notice the flickering driving on the road.

|Bilge||Anyone use LED headlights in really cold climates? I've wondered about them icing over. I've had regular headlights ice over in extreme cases making visibility so bad I had to stop and remove the ice. Most of the time the heat from the headlights is enough to keep 'em ice free.|

I ordered TL's got a pair for $387 w/ the anti flicker. code MVFREESHIP got me free shipping too so it was $387 out the door.

|DallasJKU||I'm not sure I really like the TL's that I just installed. The white light seems to be really drowned out by street lights. I think I may just stick with the headlights and use my D2's and lightbar when needed. Am I the only one that doesn't really like the TL's??|

That is all that holds on *any* headlamps for the TJ. It is not a trim ring but a retainer ring. Three T-20 Torx bolts. There are two T-20 adjustment screws, too. There is a 3rd one that we are not supposed to adjust. It is factory set. The other two pivot off the 3rd one. I still had to adjust it to get my lamps pointed down to the correct level.
The only other piece, also held on with three T-20s is the chromed bezel, which *is* a trim piece.
These all could be T-15, too. I cannot remember. I did this about a month ago and seem to recall them all being the same and that I used my T-20 for them. It is my only Snap-On driver, so it is easy for me to remember. But I could very easily be wrong about that.
EDIT: I was talking about the TJ. I cannot remember how they connected to my JK. I think it also uses a retainer ring like on the TJ. It may even be the same headlamp housing. But I really cannot remember. Anyway, I think the JK also uses the same system, with that ring being the only thing to clamp the lights in place. If I am wrong I own you a beer.

|DallasJKU||Is the only thing that basically holds the trucklights on is the trim ring??|

|Holton345||I would think these are wired correctly with no jerry rigging like the harness. However, I agree that these will be uber costly...|

|whiteyjfm||Interesting, and since Mopar and Jeep are involved, the price will most likely be $1000 plus for the same lights.|

Some new headlights should be available soon. Mopar has partnered with JW Speaker to produce a slightly-redesigned headlight. They were on display at the Jeep Safari last month...and were installed in one of the concept vehicles. The part number on the display was 82214333. They say "Jeep" in the center. The Jeep rep had no idea on cost or if they required anti-flicker harnesses. He did say they were tooling up now to produce them.
After studying them for a bit, and looking closely at my JW Speakers, I think I prefer the ones I have now...but the Mopar version does look really good.

|DallasJKU||Just ordered TL's. They look way better in daytime and couldn't justify double the price.|

|DallasJKU||Trying to decide on Trucklites vs KC vs JW. I live in Dallas so no real backroads with no lights. I currently have D2's on A-pillar and 10" SR bar on my hood. When necessary this combo is more than plenty to see down a dark street or road. TL's look way better to me in daylight, but sounds like the KC's might be slightly better at night. JW are more than I want to spend at this point. I'm not even sure if I need either actually and I probably will wait until fall or winter to buy since I very rarely drive after dark during the summer. Decisions, decisions.|

|Toby Vanderbeek||I like the look of the Speakers more than the TruckLites. But spending less than half as much was easier to swallow. I got the GE Nighthawks which seem to be the same as the TruckLites. I'm guessing the TruckLites are made by GE and branded for TL. I got them for about $160 each on Amazon when there was an instant $100 off each. GE 69821 Nighthawk 7" Round LED Headlamp by GE http://www.amazon.com/dp/B00BQX2BT8/..._MezBtb0VQZQB6|

What a HUGE difference! I replaced the oem headlights on my '14 JKRX with JW Speakers (black) and the TL anti flicker harnesses about 6 weeks ago. Though $850 is a lot, I wish Jeep offered this as a factory option. 99% of my night driving is where there is no road illumination. I would definitely recommend this upgrade.

|nickm757||I have the Trucklites and they have been nothing but awesome since day 1. I never have to use my hi-beams or fogs any more (I used my fogs every time I used my stock lights cause they sucked). They fit great and aiming them were a breeze. Install took all of 10 minutes from grille off and back on. I have bought the Putco led fogs just cause they match color wise with the Trucklites.|

|Holton345||You will like either. They are apples and oranges; they are different ways of getting similar results. Both are fantastic products. If you get some installed post some pics!|

|whiteyjfm||Nice wright-up, very well done. I still think I want the TW Speakers but like the price of the TruckLites more. No money for lights now, so time will tell witch ones we will get.|
