|thaduke2003||Gotta say, I wouldn't trade my Bilsteins for ANYTHING- they make my lifted beastie handle AND ride much better than it should- slap a set of decent tires on there, and I'll do alright at autocross (planning to this summer, actually )- Mark W.|

Well so far Ive only had experience with the Bilsteins on the TJ and the Tera's on the JK. Im happier with the handling of the Tera's. But that could also be due to the longer wheelbase of the Unlimited. Absorbs bumps a little better.
I live in a very overpopulated suburbanized place called Long Island. Alot of the roads here are crap, lol.

I haven't tried them offroad. I rode with my buddy a few times on the highway and to the party shop, rode good. I never thought about taking it down trashy roads
what shocks you like best? these Teras?

Funny you say that about the bilsteins...I have them on my Tj and the ride is outstanding at higher speeds, but when traveling on bumpier side streets they suck...very bouncy.

the shocks are ok. I wouldn't exactly say I dislike them. they mimic the stock ride for me. eventually I'll try to get something a little smoother. Blisteins or SJ Hydros. it'll be next summer probably, I'm in no rush.
or it could be the fact my mod list is getting short and I'm knick-knacking them
nah, they're good shocks. a few others are better, and a bunch are worse. my friend has Blisteins on his TJ. they're very smooth. I want my jeep to ride like his

Teraflex....I have the coil spacer lift (Budget boost). I bought the teraflex shocks to go with it. Eventually I will upgrade to a set of teraflexor maybe Rock Krawler springs. Im actually very satisfied with the Teraflex shocks. I was nervous they were gonna be very stiff riding, but I was wrong.
What dont you like about them Groundhawg?

|Rescue271||I guess the I's have it. When I get stateside i'll post pictures with the new wheels on it, I haven't seen any pictures with those wheels. the closest i've seen is the 909's but they're ugly|

I agree with the duke. RC is sh*t.
I'll also echo his thought on the Teraflex 2.5" lift. I'm running it. it's fantastic. I netted over 3" on my 2 door and has plenty of flex and rides very close to stock. the shocks could use a little improvement, but new shocks are at the bottom of my future mod list.
get it. for the price and quality, it can't be beat.
as for tires, I had Wrangler's AT when I bought my jeep. great on road, terrible off. I've got MT's now though but lots of folks around me run Duratracs and love them.

Read my review- this was, by far, the worst investment I've EVER made, and I owned shares in Microsoft! Har har...
Anyway- the springs are garbage, the shocks are garbage- pretty much all they do for the JK is garbage. Save up the extra $ and buy from a GOOD company. Teraflex's 2.5" coil lift is superb on-road, and off. Rough Country's just sags and sucks- there's a reason that NOBODY runs their stuff at any of the big parks (never seen more than a set of their shocks at Rausch Creek, ever).
On the other hand, you're ONE HUNDRED PERCENT CORRECT that a coil spring lift (given decent quality, unlike RC [see a pattern here? ]) will ALWAYS be superior to a spacer lift. But you have to pay to play. I'd even recommend Rancho or Skyjacker over RC, and I'm not overly fond of either's products for Jeeps.
As for tires, what are you looking to do? If you're 99% on-road, like most folks, I HIGHLY recommend the Firestone Destination A/T's- GREAT on-road (help my wife's Jeep get 20+ MPG on the highway), and went almost everywhere I went at Rausch Creek (blue, black trails) with ZERO problems only aired down to 20 PSI! (Pissed me off a bit ). Check them out at Tirerack.com Very not spendy, too, and they're great in snow.

Rough Country 2.5 Coil
New 2010 JK owner/new to Wrangler Forum,
Had a question for everyone out there. I've been looking at 2.5" lifts and everything i'm reading isn't very helpful, mostly because everyone knocks the spacer lift. I looked at the RC 2.5" Coil Spring lift and it seems better to just replace the factory coils and shocks than to just throw some rubber spacers under the factory coils. Is this an accurate hypothesis? Let me know your opinions please!
P.S. I will be running Black Rock 942 D wheels, but with the stock tires. eventually i will advance to the bigger BF All terrains or something of the sort. Opinions for tires are appreciated
