The area is South/East of Big Bear Lake area Trail Head that I used was off hwy 38 south of Baldwin Lake I started there and drove from 8:30 am till 5:00pm I was on so many trails in that area seen mines, old building and homes. some of the trail was a nice fire road and there was a few challenging areas where a lift is needed but dont need lockers.
just an FYI I myself wouldn't drive out there without a GPS and a map of the area to many trails out there that arnt even on some of the maps ?
but that's just me.
A Garmin Nuvi works great I have the Garmin 265 W
it even shows where you've been kinda like dropping bread crumbs so you cant get lost... and there under $200 well worth it
I dont leave home without it ..Lol..
