Do you plan on spending the money to have stuff shipped out there for it or is going to stay relatively stock until you get it back to the states?
I ordered quite a bit of stuff already. I have found that it is relatively hard to find vendors that ships to FPO addresses. JC Whitney is one of the few that I have found so I ordered the ROugh Country 4 inch suspension lift and hopefully it will be here in a few weeks. Unfortunately I just put on 31's because I thought I was not going to be able to afford the lift with some of the shipping quotes being over 300 bucks from other places. So then JC Whitney had their shipping sale and I was able to get it.

tlrrob1000 Semper Fi brother! Good to see another Marine on the forum. Welcome and enjoy. My buddy is stationed over there not sure where though. He is a Tracker and has about five years left for the 20 and a couple years left on the island also. Again welcome and Semper Fi!

convict27 Thanks JK'N and Thank you for your service. Yes my 4th was good and now the 5th in 3 hours away from being over. One more day with this 96 and then back to the grind.

To be perfectly honest, I am so used to driving over here that when I go back to the states I have to stop and think about what I am doing. All the controls are setup exactly the same which is kind of thowing me off. Over here all the local cars have the turn signals on the right side which was hard to get used to at first. I kept on hitting the windshield wipers everytime I went to signal. And now I have the Jeep and the turn signal is back on the left side which makes me have to stop and think again. All of the pedals and gauge cluster is exactly the same. Clutch on the left, Go fast stick on the right and Brake in the middle. The shift pattern is the same with top left 1st and bottom right reverse. You just have to get used to shifting with the left hand instead of the right.

I plan on shipping her back with me when I transfer. It has a 17 digit VIN and it is on the approved list of vehicles that can be shipped back to the states. I am actually looking forward to having it back in the states with the right hand drive setup.

The Tj drives amazing. The previous owner completely babied her and other than faded fenders and top, she drives and performs like she was brand spanking new.

jk'n Semper Fi,

Hope you had an nice 4th of July. Thank you for your service.

I was active in 76-78 then inactive reserve.

Welcome to the forum. Definitely a great place to hang out for jeep owners.

Must be weird having the driver's side on the right side of the jeep. Will it be sold before you ship back or can it be shipped home set up like that?

Hope the TJ gives you a great ride.

Happy jeeping.

Semper Fi from Okinawa Japan!

Hello Gang and thank you all for all the wonderful threads I have been browsing through. This seems like it is a wonderful place where myself as a FNG to the Forums as well as to the Jeep community can learn some very informative things.

A little bit about myself. I am currently a United States Marine with 15 years down and 5 more to go until retirement. I am stationed in Okinawa Japan and have another 2 years left here at the minimum.

I have a 1997 TJ Sport that I just picked up last week. It is a Japanese setup with the driver side on the right and a 5 speed manual transmission and a Dana 44. It was bone stock as of last week but that has already changed.

I hope to be a productive member on the boards and look forward to picking everyone's brain for some good gouge.
