AzTJ or the AZVJC - lotsa guys there...

If you wanna go with full width axles, awsome! Set it up like an XJ. Coils front and leafs rear. As long as the body/frame isn't totaly trashed and twisted youd be able to make a nice rig... plus your gonna have to do some major fender trimming in the rear to clear those tires. XJ's are bad at stuffing anything larger than a 33 tire, but ZJ's are a lot harder because of the odd fender design. I'd really like to see what you end up doing with it though

93zj hmm.....guess that’s what kind of response I should expect from posting in a wrangler forum. I have nothing against wranglers, I've had 2 of them and they perform well off road. But, I've also seen xj's and zj's out perform wranglers on the trail. The only reason I’m stewing these ideas are because its paid for, and it would be a reliable trail rig.

waggy axles and leaf spring swap

Hello, just wanted to throw my ideas out and see what kind of advice and feedback I get back. I picked up a 93 zj some time back for cheap but it needed a tranny rebuild. so I got that done and some other things here and there and I was planning on reselling it. Long story short-I have about $2500 in it and Im finding out that I may not be able to get all my money back out of it, so Im thinking about keeping it to wheel. Being on a budget, but wanting to run 35's or 36's im interested in going with a set of wagoneer 44's with locking hubs up front. For simplicity, I was going to convert the rear to leaf springs but am not sure for the front. What kind of ideas can yall give me as far as leaf springs or keeping it coils. I know that stock 44's are questionable with 35/36" tires, but I think going easy on the right foot may help with that. I'v got a buddy running 38 15.50 boggers on a 8.8/44 combo with 4.88's and detroits, and no problems yet. TELL ME WHAT YOU THINK! keep in mind, im on a budget!
