And yes if you plan on building your jeep with a lift like the size your looking into, you will need a SYE and CV driveshaft and all that nonsense.

|lancetkenyon||If you get the t-case lowering spacers, you should not need the SYE and CV DS. BUT.....you will be losing some of the height and breakover angle you are trying to gain. Try it without the spacers, and if you need the SYE and CV DS, then go get them.|

Yes and no... each Jeep is different. The best way would be yes get the SYE & CV DS.
You can get by with a T-Case drop, which usually comes with it, but I never understood those and why.... especially since you just lifted the Jeep, now your dropping the t-case another inch lower, almost defeats the purpose.

Yea a good kit will costs some coin $$$, atleast $750 to $1,000.
Like mentioned before it all depends on what you want to do, the type of wheeling etc...
If you buy a cheap kit, that's what you'll get... cheap stuff and cheap components.
Wheel it stock for a little, do your research and see where it takes you.

You have a D30 front axle, and a D35 rear axle.

|m3t9m||man all those kits cost $1000+ im looking for something for 500-700 max...the only thing i found was the rough country kit (which i read bad reviews about) and a skyjacker kit, what do you guys think about skyjacker? or anything else you may recommend|

I've heard alot of people complain about the ride of the Rough Country kits. If I remeber correctly mabe their newer ones might ride better, but not sure.
I would look at Teraflex, Rock Krawler, OME or Rubicon Express before buying a RC kit.
RC kits tend to be on the cheap side for a reason.
Have you read thru the "Lift Review" sticky at the top yet.... you should there's alot of good feed back in there as well as pics

Depends on what you do with your rig and what is currently has for axles. If you have a D35 rear axle(which I bet you do, and guarantee if you have a 4 popper), you should seriously consider getting the Superior Super D35 kit to keep the shafts alive for long. If you wheel(which sounds like you want to), or want to be able to use 5th gear(if it is a stick), you WILL want to re-gear the axles. The loss of power will be horrible, especially with a 4 popper motor(which I am pretty sure is what you have).
A few more specs on your rig would help. Like motor, tranny, axles, etc.

He is a GREAT guy and will give you good solid information, explain the differences to you and help you determine what might be the right way to go.
IF they had it back when I bought my 4" RCX kit, I would have gone with the long arm. When i was up at their offices last time I got to see it in person and it looks GOOD! As soon as my money tree blooms again, I will prolly be upgrading to it.
Just curious, why do you want to go 6"?
Makes it kinda long legged on the trails.
Lower center of gravity = better stability

SYE = Slip yoke elimanator
CV DS = constent velocity drive shaft
You will need these cause when you lift your jeep that high your drive line geometry will be off causing vibrations in the rear shaft. You should be able to find lots of info on these by doing searchs. cause im not sure where the best deals are. I think tom woods is the best for cv ds thou.

You really need the SYE and CV for 4" lift. For 33's you need at least 3" of lift, more is better for offroad, and gearing may be an issue for you. It may not, it depends on what you expect.
I'll put it this way, if you don't do all the things suggested to run a big (4"+) lift, then you end up like so many others, asking why is my Jeep so crappy on the road? How do I fix my ride? What's this vibration? Etc.......

|lancetkenyon||The cost goes up exponentially when you go big. The desire for big tires increases the need for big parts 10 fold. 33s requires a small lift, SYE and CV DS, gearing in the axles, and maybe chromo shafts. You go to 35s, the rear axle becomes an issue and usually needs a new one(if you have a D35), chromos are needed F/R, deep gears, bigger lift, body lift, starting to need better performing suspension and lockers to be able to utilize the full benefit of the bigger tires, and the trails start requiring a full cage to keep you safe. Go to 37s, the front D30 will not last long, even with chromos(better look for a D44, 9" or D60 front now), a rear D44 or 8.8 is marginal, even with chromos, upgrades to the t-case as soon coming, more clearance at the wheel wells means more lift or cutting/high clearance fenders, now you need a winch cause you are running hard trails, etc. Go to 39s or 40s and might as well save some serious coin and just buy a buggy. D60s F/R or better, stretch the WB, might as well do coil-overs now, HD EVERYTHING, t-case, tranny, cut the body all apart, tube it out........yeah, a never ending vicious circle of pain and torture......all to have a little fun on the weekends. Is it worth it all? Heck yeah!!!|

then you might want to think about a 4 inch and 33s....
the cheapest 6 inch kit ive seen is from rough county. but you need more then just the lift kit. you need things like a SYE and new driveshaft. and to handle the size and added weight of 35 inch tires, you need to upgrade your rear axle and should upgrade your steering and braking as well. because you have a 4 cylinder, you may have to up grade your front axle as well in order to be able to put the right gears in to compensate for the 35s.
the front D30 axle will only fit 4.88 gears. with the engine you have, those are recommended for 33 inch tires. they are still a little to tall for 35s, unless you want it to be even more of a snail then it already is.
basically, a 6 inch lift, and 35s invite a huge amount of problems and things that you need to upgrade.
33s do as well, but its not as much stuff to upgrade.

I would recommend a 4" lift and 33's will get you pretty much anywhere and cover alot of the trails as well.
Look into the following: Teraflex, Rock Krawler or RE 4.5 kits
