Obviously, you won't get a good seal, and the water that collects on the top will need to go somewhere. And that'll be down your left shoulder. But you've got to expect that.
Well that settles it. The guy who should know gives it the okey-dokey!

Geoff@Bestop Yeah, it will flap a bit more, but won't cause damage.

Well there ya go. Bye bye door surrounds until fall.

It will make it about 6 seconds faster to put up the top now too.

G54 I've wondered that myself, but I'm afraid to try it since my commute is mostly highway and I don't want to ruin my top.

Try it and let me know how it worked out will ya?

Driving with soft top and no door surrounds

Would it hurt if I needed to drive with the soft top up and no door surrounds to fasten it too? I'm asking because once I get my seat covers, I will have the top down and all the windows, upper doors, and door surrounds at home. If it would start to rain while at work, I could put the top up but would not have the door surrounds to hook the top too. I'd prefer not to carry the door surrounds in the back if I don't need too. I'm sure it would flap more and be noisier, I just don't want it to tear.

Thanks

John
