|mjfitzner||Ive got the BFG A/T's and I love them. Haven't had a chance to really wheel with them yet but on-road they are great. My neighbor has had them on his truck and his jeep and says they last a really long time.|

MT/R w. Kevlar are completely different than the old style MT/Rs as stated above. Just like the BFG MT KM2s are completely different then the old BFG MTs, or the BFG MT KMs.
My choice for a DD Jeep would be the GY MT/R w. Kevlar for sure. I have the BFG KM2s on my tow rig, only because I needed them THAT DAY, or I would have waited for the MT/R w. Ks that were on backorder.
And the GY MT/R was not a "mud terrain". it is a "max traction" tire, IIRC.

I see you already bought tires so this probably doesn't matter to you.
I just bought some Firestone Destination MTs based off many favorable reviews I read online. They are replacing BFG MTs that lasted close to 60,000 miles. It should go without saying, but rotate your tires religiously. I wasn't so religious and they started to get irregular wear patterns, which turned into vibrations while driving. Driving home with the new Firestones today was like driving on air.
One other thing I'll add. Looking at tirecrawler.com, buying four BFG's and shipping to me would cost almost as much as I paid today at the local tire shop, but mine included mounting, balancing and alignment. Granted, you were looking for that specific tire which you couldn't find locally.

|Gumpy2030||Just found the KM2 @ tirecrawler.com for $163 a tire in that size. Don't ask me how they have them listed at that price almost $60 a tire cheaper than everyone else. So I ordered them but am half expecting an email tomorrow saying it was a mistake or they are back ordered for good.|

If you are dead set on mud-terrain tires, go for the MT/R Kevlars. They are a COMPLETELY different tire than the older MT/R style. The new ones are much stronger, especially in the sidewall.
Another good tire is the BFG KM2.

|Gumpy2030||I for sure am looking to go with a M/T. I have heard the same issues with the Toyo about people think they wear too fast. I guess I need to just pick one and see how it goes.|

|smatica||My jeep has had the stock Goodyear MT/R's on them until today. I just got 32 inch MT/R's. The ones that I just took off had 50,000 miles on them. I'd say that's pretty good tread wear. These tires are pretty quiet for a mud terrain too.|

|stabs05||x2 on the A/T's, I've had the BFG A/Ts on for 25000+ miles (can't remember exactly) and they still have tons of tread left, granted they are 31, not 33, but the wear should be similar. If you do wheel it at all, watch out for the mud, these will cake up, but as a DD, they rock|

|Hendy||I looked at the MT/R's a few years ago, the sales lady at the Goodyear shopp steered me away from them, she said they are a really soft rubber and tend to wear really fast if you do more paved road driving them offroad driving. I went with BFG AT KOs|

Cant order BFG M/T backorderd again
So I am finally ready to get my new tires and the BFG M/T are backordered. According to the local shops there is no production date currently scheduled with Goodrich on these either. They all make it sound like it might me weeks or longer till they can get them.
So now it is back between the Goodyear Wrangler MT/R w/ Kevlar and the Toyo Open Country M/T. I am getting 33x12.50x15. I am leaning towards the MT/R because I have read many people complain about the extra weight of the Toyo (10 lbs per tire according to specs). I just don't know many people that have used the MT/R but you see the Toyo all over but I know that is Les Schwab favorite tire to push.
What is your experience if any with either of these tires. By the way it is my DD.
