|JeepCreeper||If the tires are cupped a new steering stabilizer might hide your problem for a while. I neglected to rotate my tires as often as I should on my last set. I started getting very bad vibrations while driving. I just got new tires and the vibrations are gone.|

|RoSs||To much air will do that as Infernogirl stated. I run 27psi in my 33's. And i dont think just the stabilizer shock will make that much of a difference but its a start. And its cheaper than new tires!|

|InfernoGirl||Check the air pressure in the tires too. If they are overinflated, it'll jump around everywhere...|

|RoSs||Rancho Makes a good stabilizer shock. I just put one on my TJ, i think it was like 56 bucks shipping and all. Easy breezy to put on to.|

|InfernoGirl||x2.... Shop the tire sites online. There are a million different tires you can get in your size or even size up to a 31 if you like... That size won't be too bad, or check craigslist or ebay, or how far are you from Indiana, I have 4 nice 31's I'll sell you....|

As for the tires.. the gsa's he is trying to sell you have a history of cupping and uneven wear. Something to keep in mind.
As for the steering..when you say bouncy side to side the steering feels that way or the whole jeep? and yes you can change the shock yourself.. go to autozone.. nappa etc.

Flat Tires and Steering Stabilizer
I have a 2005 Wrangler X Rocky Mountain Edition. She started running rough so I brought her to jeep(maybe a mistake) and they stripped down the engine to find an "internal bearing failure" in the engine. It is still under warranty from diff to diff so they replaced the short block. Still idles like crap and I am taking it back to them. I figured I needed a new steering stabilizer because she was a little bouncy side to side. They did mention that I needed a new steering stabilizer and 4 new tires. 2 of the tires have such a small flat spot that it is unnoticable when looking at the jeep. You have to get up close and look to see them. He is trying to tell me that by replacing just the steering stabilizer wont help. Think he is being a typical sales/serviceman. He wants to charge me $300 to change the steering stabilizer when I could do it in an hour for $50(anyone know any really good stablizers?) and naturally a lot for my tires that are Wrangler GSA30X9.50R15LT(anyone know where to get tires of this size reasonable online?) So my question is, since funds are low, would changing just the stabilizer help? I don't see why it wouldn't but thats why I am asking and I hate getting sold by the servicemen at jeep. Thanks for any advice!
