I marked mine with a set of calipers 1.5" above the stock lip. Then I cut it with a razor knife, bent the cut part backwards and snapped the lower part off, much like scoring and cutting drywall.
The finish is very clean.
35" tires on 2.5" lift with ACOS at 3/4"

I marked mine with masking tape, hit 'em with a jig saw and smoothed 'em out with a file

Nothing flare specific, but here's what I have....
I didn't trim but about 3/4" since I didn't want them flatter... Obviously yours will look different if you take off more.

|jwm1986||She's got it down I think! I have seen in person and they turned out very nice. I did mine with a die grinder and paddle wheel. It took forever and made a mess.|

|InfernoGirl||We do it all the time. Nothing to it. The easiest way (trust me, I tried about 6 other ways before I found this one) is to get a nice sharp razor knife and score it where you want them trimmed, maybe a hair less than you want to end up. Then just bend it in, and peel it off. It seems hard to cut, but once you score it and bend it, it will peel like a banana... I tried a Dremel, and it gets too hot and throws lava balls at you... not fun, and a coping saw and all sorts of other things after I first tried the knife.. Went back to the knife and kicked myself for months for not trusting what I'd read.... It really is the easiest way. Mark it first with a jig, or something, and have at 'em..|

Chopping stock fender flares
Well as some of you might know, I am over in the land of the rising sun and some items I just cant get shipped to me due to weight and size restrictions of sending things through the USPS only. I was wondering if anyone has taken their stock fender flares and chopped them to make them into flat fender flares? If so what did you use for the cutting and how did it come out? Do you all think it would be a bad idea or not? Thanks!
