JYJeep Ok Today I found Bestop to have the part at $113
Local dealer $468
I need to double check that bestop actual fits the OEM LWB top but that was the claim. Either way I don't care as the other guys insurance needs to pony up.

JYJeep My jeep was just sideswiped in the parking lot marking up, yes one side window unit on an '05 LJ sunrider style top. Will contact Bestop per above and report back on how that works.

Special Order Replacement window for 2006 Unlimited

Thanks for the information. I need to replace one window on my 2006 Unlimited and special ordered a replacement window for an OEM Sunrider top from Bestop. It cost me less than my insurance deductible (some fool tried to cut their way into my "ziploc" vehicle). It saved me much more than if I had ordered it through the dealer. I can wait for it to be made to order and shipped.

Thanks again.

It is also the only item that you can order and buy directly from Bestop. Anything else has to be purchased from a Bestop retailer.
As I stated above, the LJ top is a Mopar Part and can only be purchased new through a Mopar distributor. "Sunrider" is a Bestop registered trademark. It is the same as buying a store brand item that was produced by a major manufacturer under the store's name. You can buy it from the store but not directly from the maker. If it were not a bestop manufactured product, why would they make replacement windows for it. As far as I know they don't make replacement parts for any tops that they don't produce.

Sticks Well...Here is some interesting info,

Spoke to Bestop (never got a return email). Turns out that although they do make the OEM soft tops for the Jeeps, they did not make them on the 03-06 Unlimited. Jeep either went with someone else or did it themselves. Coincidence that Jeep called the soft top option on the Unlimited a Sunrider, same as Bestop - hence the mass confusion.

Bestop does not make a "Kit" consisting of all 3 windows. They make and sell them individually as aftermarket replacement for an OEM top, and only by order (significantly cheaper than the online retailers - that's a first). Ordered up a set, should be done in 1-2 weeks.

Got the door surrounds in yesterday. finally the pieces are starting to come together.

InfernoGirl Call Bestop. They should be able to give you the part #, assuming it's different from the one in the link I posted above.

Sticks Thanks Neil F.

I don't know how I missed the first E-bay posting for the full set. I used several searches and all those key words.

The other two, I have already contacted RockRiders (that is where I got my door surrounds) and they do not have any window kits for the LWB. All they have are SWB.

That is the problem I keep running into. They post for all models 97-06 or even 03-06 (zipper change) but keep missing the fact that the LWB windows are different. Even the major online retailers keep choking on that one.

I still have not figured out what the Bestop part number is for the LWB window kit (emaild them last week), and the Mopar P/N comes up at Quadratec and a couple others when you search, along with specifying "Unlimited", but click on it, "product not found".

Summit Racing has 3 P/Ns that come up even when you specify "unlimited" in their vehicle selection but the description does not specify, and their compatibility/application chart shows both the SWB and LWB jeeps for the same P/N.

Going to have to find time to make a lot of calls this week.

It is not like this is a new model year and the aftermarket shops are trying to keep up. Been around for a while, you'd think they would have figured this out.

I so wanted to have this Jeep project done for the wife this weekend (when she's not happy, I definitely am brought along for the ride). I need to get back to my truck and the rest of the "Honey-Do" list.

InfernoGirl Chucky, step away from the pipe!

Sticks, you gotta keep in mind that the extra 10" requires totally different machinery to make it, and anytime you gotta buy new stuff to make something, it's gonna drive the cost up... Just remind yourself how much you love the extra room...

chucky cheese Reminds me of a story about my freind Wilbur. When you looked at Wilbur he was pretty much normal except his head was bigger than normal. petty much like a pretzel with a pumpkin on top. He always wore a hat. The type with the detachable earflaps. One day he was philosophising about the questions of the universe so we told him if he wanted the questions answered to go ask a wolverine but to listen real close because the wolverine whispers answers. Well the wolverine chewed his earflaps off and being his favorite hat he tried to order replacement flaps. He found replacment earflaps but they were double the cost of normal flaps. He lamented just because he had lots more head diameter than normal people why would 10" of extra material make that much difference? Well anyway one of his questions of the universe was answered. What happens when you get to close to a wolverine? So everytime I see a jeep unlimited I think of Wilbur. Kinda looks normal but there is something freakish about it.

Sticks Thanks guys. I kept on looking after I posted this and finally found them at Quadratec (been there several times and kept not finding them.

So why is it the unlimited window kit is near double the SWB jeep soft tops? 10" more fabric on the sides is not all that much. Aggravating.

Been searching around salvage yard places, Craigs List, and E-bay. It is like the unicorn of replacement window kits.

InfernoGirl Bestop® Tinted Window Kit for 04-06 Jeep® Wrangler TJ Unlimited - Quadratec probably the same link...

All 06's came with the sunrider feature, afaik.. in any case the windows shouldn't be affected by the feature, and this one says that they fit OEM or Bestop tops...

Somebody knows this answer - 06 unlimited Sunrider windows!!!

For the life of me, I can not find a complete window kit for a 2006 Wrangler Unlimited OEM Sunrider soft top.

The dealers only sell the windows separately, and want $1k for all 3. I have only found 1 online retailer that sells the windows for the unlimited and they also only sell individual windows, for darn near as much as a complete window kit for a SWB Jeep. All the other retailers I have found for the Sunrider window kits state Will not fit Unlimited or OEM soft top

WTH?!?!? Bestop and Jeep get in bed together on the Unlimited trim on Jeeps to keep the prices jacked up/supply restricted? I know Bestop is the OEM supplier for Jeep soft tops, but this is obscene.

Somebody here has this answer and a source for a complete window kit (Black Diamond) for an 06 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited that won't break the bank.
