I'm having the same problem with my 2011 Wrangler Unlimited. The key I've been using for three years no longer works but the other key does. I have taken to keeping that other key locked in the glove box. I know that's not a good idea but I have to get to work. I did replace the CR2032 batteries in the first key and that worked for a few weeks but now I'm back in the same boat. When I take it to the dealership all they do is shrug their shoulders. Any help would be appreciated, Thanks!

|jtkirk33||No. Not under warranty. Day 5 of my oddessy. Dealer says they can't figure it out. That they'll have to call the "hotline" for advice. I really like my Jeep. But I'd like it better if I could drive it once and a while. I'm getting the uneasy feeling that "hotline" might equate to lots of money.|

|1BLKJP||Yeah, the dealer has the market cornered on them Sentry Keys. Any chance it is still under warranty?|

|jtkirk33||OK. So after towing Jr., (daughters name for my Jeep), to my regular mechanic, he says it's either a bad key, or a bad SKIM Module. But he can't fix it cause he doesn't have the required pc software, yada, yada. Just had it towed to the local jeep dealer. $130.00 worth of towing and it ain't runnin' yet.|

|jtkirk33||No, no other error codes. And since the key light on the das doesn't flash, (it just stays on), I'm thinking that the Sentry module itself may have an error and not the key. Yea, that'd be cool if there were a fuse or some other way to reset rather than taking it to a dealer. Any suggestions from anyone would be appreciated!|

|4Jeepn||Hm, might be a dealer thing. there is supposed to be a fuse in the engine fuse box that will resest everything.. i think its under the black tape if i recall. Perhaps someone else can chime in. Are you getting any other error codes with the key on key off trick?|

Sentry Key Problems
Hi there. I'm new to the site. I just bought a sweet 2000 Wrangler Sport. 5spd 6cyl. No problems until last night. Went to crank it and it ran for 2secs or so and then shut down on me. I had the "key" symbol come on, and the odometer showed, "no sup", or "no 5up", (not sure if it was and s, or 5). Anyway the manual seems to suggest that the electronics could no longer match the key code, thus shutting my jeep down. The problem is I only have the one key. Is there a way to reset the the jeep electronics, or to bypass the Sentry system all together? Some of the things I tried:
Disconnected the battery for 5 mins. Reconnected, but no luck.
Ran the diagnostic system, but no luck their either.
Any suggestions? Thanks in advance.
