TKorona Luckily, I am very dry in my Jeep! I have none of the typical water issues (yet) and the windshield has never given me any issues with leaks. Shortly after I got the jeep I cracked the windshield and my comprehensive insurance replaced it. The guys came right out to me and did it and I asked them if they thought the frame was ok and they told me it was. But quite honestly, I trust everyone here even more! Thanks for all of the suggestions.

kj 92yj yeah, i guess it depends on how bad the inside is. if your feet are getting wet during a rain storm, then you need to pull off and replace before it starts to eat away at your fire wall..........if not, then rogertc's advise works all day. if so, then uplifted's advice is the way to go.

rogertc1 Not that big of deal. Clean it up, tape it up, put some rust inhibitor on, and paint it with a white rattle can. Do this every year for that matter. It is a 15 years old with how many, maybe over 100K miles. Rust on the windshield will not make it unsafe to drive in the winter. Now if your frame is rusted thru that is a different story.
You could paint your wiper arms with a black rattle can too...that would make it look new!!

TKorona thanks a lot uplifted. You have saved me a lot of money in attempted "quick fixes". I appreciate it.

uplifted Unless you pull the glass and repair the rust completely, it will just keep coming back... I had the same rust on mine and my glass had a few chips in it so i just opted to buy a new shield frame, glass and all new seals.. You can buy everything as a kit if needed.. Link below

Windshield Rust Pics

Hi Everyone,

I have some rust issues that I am looking for opinions on. As you can see from the pictures, she's not too bad from far away! (Had it in golf cart mode today) But as you get closer, you can see my windshield is in some bad shape. What can I do about this? Should I be worried? I would like to have this as a safe drivable jeep for this coming winter. Any opinions are appreciated.
