Ain't nothin wrong with a little chrome
I'd sell and replace, probably get more value than after you painted them.

|JDsDream||Your grill overlay should just pop off. I think mine might have had a few screws on the top, but they come off pretty easy. One suggestion though, either use it as wall art or trash it because you can't even give them away. For the rest, paint for now, replace later if necessary.|

|firefighter777||X2 on Rustouleum. I use it to paint everything on my rig. Just make sure to sand good with a fine paper and get lots of light coats not heavy ones and of course clear coat.|

|jeepr||You could sand the parts down, and then use a good etching primer and then a couple coats of black and clear coat. I like Rustouleum. hope that helps.|

no chrome on my rig
I just bought my new to me 2003 sport in May and am loving it. The issue is the previous owner had replaced the hood latches, the handle and windshield rubber supports on the hood with chrome pieces. They also installed a chrome grill overlay as well as windshield mounted chrome KC highlights slimlights with matching chrome brackets.
The issue is I don't like the flash of chrome (bling) on the jeep. I was wondering if anyone had painted any of these and what they used.
I also thought about just selling them and getting the black instead...any thoughts/ideas would be appreciated.
